During this time, the crew managed to work in Odessa and on the Crimean peninsula, where scenery was built to recreate the atmosphere of Vladivostok in the early 1920s. They have a friend - the keeper of the lighthouse Arseny, who, moreover, leads the red underground. During an outing for alcohol at a Japanese military base, Ilya’s brother is killed and he is left alone.
The boy meets the Japanese counterintelligence officer Matsuoku, who begins to educate him as a samurai, teaches the techniques of jujitsu.
Meanwhile, Arseny is arrested by the secret police, Captain Engelhardt goes to Harbin to meet the train with gold, and his son, Cadet Arkady speaks about this to his orderly.
Ilya and Arkady meet in the ring. However, their forbidden fight is interrupted by a raid.
Vladivostok is dominated by the Reds. Amid the chaos, Ilya finds Arcadia on the ocean. The guy almost drowned while trying to leave the city, and he has pneumonia. Ilya does not dislike his opponent and decides to help him. He takes him to the hospital, where he passes off as his dead brother. Since then, Arkady lives under the name of Sergey Rogov, and he and Ilya become friends.
Content 5 and 6 series
The guys fall in love with the daughter of the red commander Zhenya Berkovich. Since Ilya met the girl first, he believes that he has more rights to her. In parallel with this, Arseny recruits Arkady. He personally knew Ilya’s brother and understands that the guy is not the one he claims to be. Arkady is forced to agree to cooperate with the NKVD and he is put in a cell to two Englishmen.
Ilya also serves in the organs. He asks for a transfer to Moscow. However, Arseny Golikov sends him under the guise of a scientist on an expedition, allegedly with the artist Roerich, whose route passes through the places where the White Guard gold was once hidden. The expedition does not lead to anything.

It takes several years. Ilya retires, Arkady rose to the rank of senior major, and Zhenya became a professional photographer. She and her husband are constantly quarreling. This is used by Arkady. He puts Zhenya in a car and takes him away in front of her husband. Ilya takes his son and goes with him to his homeland - to Vladivostok.
There he meets with Arseny. The latter invites him to go to Manchuria in search of gold, promising restoration in the organs.

Ilya, along with the Chekists sent to search for the White Guard gold, gets into trouble, but he manages to escape. A young man is nursed by an old Chinese man. After recovering, he manages to discover a cache of gold.

In the series "Red Mountains" he created a convincing image of a man who does not have any principles and betrays even those who at a critical moment extended a helping hand to them.
As always, Evgeny Dyatlov, who played the underground, and later the enkavedeshnik Arseny Golikov, was at the top.
