Cooking rice with vegetables

Very often I want to cook something very unusual for a side dish. But traditionally, the choice falls on potatoes, pasta or rice. But these products can also be prepared very original and tasty. Let's talk about how to cook rice with vegetables. I must say that there are a lot of cooking options. There is scope for creativity. You can take various vegetables and spices and add them to the main ingredient. But still, several proven recipes need to be taken as a basis.

First, prepare rice with vegetables in the simplest way. Rice should be sorted out by removing low-quality grains. Then wash and cook. We also add salt and cook until the moisture evaporates or the rice is finally ready. It all depends on which cooking method you prefer. If the first option, then we take one portion of rice and two portions of water. In the second case, you can take fluids as you wish. In my opinion, the first option is preferable. Naturally, you need to consider that rice will increase in volume almost twice. It is rather a reminder to young and inexperienced housewives.

In the meantime, we chop the onion and fry it until transparent. Then you need to cut the carrots into strips and add it to the onion. Sweet pepper cut into arbitrary pieces and also pour into a skillet. Tomatoes need to be cut into cubes and added to other vegetables. If you don’t like when the peel of a tomato is present in a dish, then simply blanch them. To do this, make a cross-shaped incision of the skin and lower them into boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Then we transfer them to cold water and easily remove the skin. We add fried vegetables to boiled rice. We mix everything very well and simmer for about another five minutes. Then you can add finely chopped garlic and herbs and serve.

Vegetables for the preparation of this dish, you can add any. It turns out delicious rice with mushrooms. To do this, cut the mushrooms and fry in a pan. Combine them with boiled rice and simmer for a while. This can be served not only as a side dish, but also as a separate dish.

If you use more ingredients and spices, you will get very fragrant rice with vegetables. We take rice, rinse it and dry it. Then we put a pot of water on the fire and let the water boil. We spread rice in it and do not forget to salt. Cook until tender. Wash green peas and boil. Peel the tomatoes and cut into medium-sized cubes. Potatoes need to be peeled and cut into cubes as well. Saffron is bred with a small amount of milk.

Take a frying pan and fry coriander, ginger, turmeric on it, using a little vegetable oil. After a minute, add the potatoes and fry until crusty. After this, pour peas, tomatoes and chopped greens into the pan. All the ingredients are salt. Stew for a while under the lid, until the vegetables are soft. You can add a little liquid.

To the boiled rice we add milk with saffron and a little yogurt. We mix everything. Now we take the baking dish and put half the rice on the bottom. Then put the vegetables on top. Next is the remaining rice. We cover the rice with vegetables foil and put in the oven for 20 minutes.

When serving, cut into pieces and spread with a spatula. Sprinkle with herbs.
