For example, in 2010, the theater, together with circus performers, staged the operetta “The Circus Princess”. It was an innovative project. Its unusualness is that the performances were in the circus arena, with the participation of its artists.
Another innovation is the inclusion of concert programs with theatricalization in the theater’s repertoire. Such events were very popular and quickly gained popularity. The idea of conducting concert programs on the stage of the theater belongs to Dmitry Sukhanov - the main director.
Another very important, significant sphere of his work, the Nizhny Novgorod Opera has identified educational activities for itself. For these purposes, visiting subscriptions were created. Thanks to this project, high art is being popularized and the audience is expanding. The theater implements subscription programs together with various universities of the city. This project was born 15 years ago and immediately became successful.
In the current and previous seasons, a number of premieres took place. The repertoire was replenished with six new productions of different genres. They were received by the public in different ways. Nevertheless, no one was indifferent and the performances were not noticed. Among these new productions, there are two, whose premieres are of global importance.
