1909 year. Scotland. Brothers Alexander II and John Walkers, continuing the work of their father, create Black Label whiskey, combining 35 single malt and 5 grain whiskeys. Thus began the era of the legendary Scottish drink, which gained recognition and popularity around the world.
Brand history
John Walker (Sr.), born in 1805, upon reaching the age of 14 becomes the manager of a family grocery store. Everyone who knew the young man noted his unique abilities in the field of mixing (blending) of tea varieties. Later, in close collaboration with his son Alexander Walker I, John creates his first blended whiskey, and pours it into glass containers for the first time in history.
I would like to note that single malt whiskeys are, as a rule, Premium class drinks created at the same distillery and bearing her name. Each variety of single malt whiskey is unique and has a unique taste that is unique to it. This is due to the characteristics of the climate, the taste of water, the composition of the soils characteristic of the area in which it was created. Excerpt from each variety used to create the Black Label is at least 12 years old.
However, the company John Walker & Sons becomes known only after the death of John the Elder and truly legendary after it was headed by the sons of Alexander I Walker - John and Alexander II Walker.
In 1908, cartoonist Tom Brown created a trademark that became an integral part of the Black Label whiskey brand - a walking man in pince-nez.
Alexander II Walker, continuing the innovation of his father, decides to make a container for whiskey, which produces a family-owned company, recognizable and unique. Thus, rectangular bottles with a diagonally glued label are born.
One of the best drinks in the world: unique taste and aroma
Black Label whiskey is a standard of quality, a sign of refined taste and respectability. Refined golden, deep amber shade of "Black Label" (12-year-old whiskey ) will not leave anyone indifferent.
It is known for certain that this particular whiskey was preferred by Sir Winston Churchill, a lover of
hard liquors of invariably the highest quality.
At many exhibitions in all parts of the world, the Black Label whiskey is deservedly praised by professionals.
Thanks to the unique blend, the bouquet of the legendary Black Label Scotch whiskey cannot be confused with anything else. The deep notes of orange intersect with the sweetness of raisins. Heather smoke, the aroma of which can be traced in the "Black Label", echoes the bitter notes of chocolate. A delicate aroma of apples and honey completes the composition. The taste is soft, but at the same time rich and rich.
At the moment, it is one of the most famous and consumed deluxe alcoholic beverages. According to the official data of John Walker & Sons, more than 100 million bottles of Johnny Walker whiskey are produced annually.
