One of the thorny paths to the gastronomic table was done by eggplant. Its wild relatives originally grew in India and China. The first Europeans to try this vegetable were, as historians believe, the soldiers of Alexander the Great. But most of them simply got poisoned due to improper cooking. It took not a single century before this vegetable managed to take root in the European menu. But today they cook
