Surely everyone knows a drug like Kamistad. The instruction assumes its use not only in adults, but also in children at the time of teething. So for the first time I had a chance to encounter him when my son's teeth painfully erupted. It was at such a moment that this drug really helped. The good news is that it tastes sweet, otherwise the baby could not rub into the gums. I tried to rub myself, the gums instantly numb, due to which the feeling of pain disappears.
If you have been prescribed Kamistad, the instructions should be read by you carefully, as it is in the form of a gel and in the form of a cream. It is usually produced in a small tube of 10 grams.
1) Composition. The active substance is lidocaine hydrochloride (2.00 grams), chamomile extract (1 to 5), 50% ethanol (with trometamol 1.37%). As auxiliary substances - benzalkonium chloride (in a 50% solution), cinnamon camphor oil, sodium saccharin, formic acid, ethanol, water, carbomer and trometamol.
2) Pharmacology. The preparation of combined action "Kamistad", the instruction of which involves local application, has a local anesthetic and analgesic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect.
Lidocaine quickly eliminates pain for a long time (with inflammatory processes in the oral cavity, mucous membrane, lips and gums).
Chamomile flower extract has a healing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect on the affected areas.
The form of the drug is a gel, which can easily be distributed over the mucous membrane "Kamistad". The instruction contains all the necessary information.
3) Application and indications. The use of the drug is advisable in the following cases, accompanied by pain:
- inflammation of the oral cavity, lips and gums (this can be stomatitis, gingivitis);
- teething in children and wisdom teeth in adults, these processes are usually accompanied by aching pain;
- irritation of the gums from dentures, braces and plates;
- postoperative period of maxillofacial surgery;
- during dental procedures.
4) Dose and method of application. For children under 2 years old, “Kamistad” is applied no more than 3 times a day, 0.5 cm each.
Adults and children over two years of age are applied a strip of 0.5 cm - 3 times a day. After application, rub the gel with massaging finger movements.
5) Side effect. The drug may cause allergic reactions (rash and other forms of allergy). If signs are found, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
6) Contraindications for the use of the drug "Kamistad" gel (instructions should contain this information).

- bradycardia;
- liver failure;
- heart failure;
- Hypersensitivity to certain components that make up the drug;
- pregnancy;

7) Lactation and pregnancy. The use of the drug is contraindicated in women who are breastfeeding, as well as in pregnant women.
8) In case of an overdose, nausea (sometimes vomiting) can occur, the skin turns pale, difficulty breathing, apnea. In this case, the drug is canceled and symptomatic therapy is prescribed.
9) Interaction with other drugs. Not studied and not previously described.
10) Special note. The drug is used until all symptoms disappear.
11) Available in pharmacies freely, without a doctor’s prescription.
12) Shelf life and storage. "Kamistad" must be stored in places inaccessible to children, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. It is suitable for 3 years from the date of manufacture.
13) Description. Translucent gel of a yellowish color. Tastes sweet.
