Drops for eyes “Taurine” are used to stimulate reparative (recovery) processes in injuries and dystrophy of the cornea, various types of cataracts - such as traumatic, senile, radiation, and diabetic. The active substance of this medicine is the sulfur-containing amino acid of the same name, which is formed in the human body during the processing of cysteine. This substance was first isolated in 1827.
The drug “Taurine” for the eyes is useful in that it activates the energy and metabolic processes in them, helps to normalize the functioning of cell membranes. Also, its use can improve the transmission of impulses along nerve fibers and promotes the accumulation of K + and Ca2 + ions, due to which the composition of the cytoplasm is preserved. The sterility of the Taurine cataract preparation is ensured by strict adherence to the technological cycle of its manufacture, which includes the production of bottles, caps, dropper caps, preparation of the medicinal substance itself, its filling and capping.
The composition of the Taurine preparation (eye drops), instructions for its use result in the following: each milliliter of the medicine contains 40 milligrams of the active substance (taurine), as well as auxiliary nipagin (methyl parahydroxybenzoate) and water. This medication is available in bottles of polyethylene having a volume of 5 and 10 milliliters, which are hermetically sealed with a dropper stopper and a cap.

Its manifestations can be expected in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylurea, and carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. This drug is produced by various companies under different names: "Taufon", "Quinax", "Emoksipin", "Taurin Dia." Eye drops have an expiration date of three years (in intact packaging).
