The drug "ACC" (for children) is characterized by instructions as a mucolytic agent. The medicine is produced in the form of a powder for the preparation of a solution for oral administration, and in suspension. The active substance is acetylcysteine.

The drug “ACC” (for children), the instruction recommends for diseases of the respiratory system, complicated by increased formation of difficult to separate viscous sputum: laryngitis, cystic fibrosis, bronchiolitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, bronchitis (obstructive, chronic and acute). The medicine is also prescribed for otitis media, sinusitis (chronic and acute).

The drug “ACC” (for children), the instruction recommends to patients from six to fourteen years old one hundred milligrams three times or two hundred milligrams twice a day (or one measured spoonful of suspension three to four times a day).

Patients from two to five years old are prescribed 100 mg or 1 tablespoon of the solution for oral administration two to three times a day.

Patients under the age of two are prescribed the drug “ACC” (syrup for children). The instruction recommends taking half a scoop two to three times a day.

Treatment of infants is carried out under the supervision of a specialist.

In case of sudden short-term colds, the duration of administration is from five to seven days. In chronic cystic fibrosis and bronchitis, in order to prevent the occurrence of infection, a longer period should be taken under the supervision of a doctor.

Strengthens the mucolytic (expectorant) effect means the use of an additional amount of liquid. The medicine "ACC" (for children), the instruction recommends drinking after meals.

To prepare a suspension, a powder from a bag of 100 or 200 milligrams (bag or half bag depending on the dosage) is dissolved in juice, tea (cold) or water.

The medicine “ACC” in the form of granules (two hundred and six hundred milligrams) from one sachet is dissolved in a glass of hot water. It is recommended to drink, if possible, a hot solution. If necessary, it is allowed to leave the prepared mixture for three hours.

When using the drug, the appearance of some undesirable manifestations is possible. Adverse reactions of the “ACC” remedy (for children) include tinnitus, nausea, headache, heartburn, tachycardia. The medicine can cause diarrhea, stomatitis, lowering blood pressure, urticaria, bronchospasm (usually in patients with hyperreactivity of the bronchial system in bronchial asthma). The medication can cause itching, skin rashes. Pulmonary hemorrhage is extremely rare .

As practice shows, the drug in rare cases causes side effects and is tolerated, in most cases, well. However, if undesirable effects appear, you must stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

The medicine “ACC” is contraindicated for pulmonary hemorrhage, hemoptysis, peptic ulcer in the duodenum and stomach in the acute stage. No medicine is prescribed for individual intolerance.

The “ACC” product in the form of granules for the preparation of a mixture for oral administration of one hundred and two hundred milligrams is not recommended for children under two years old, 200 mg for up to six years, 600 mg for up to fourteen years.

Particular caution in the treatment should be shown to persons with varicose venous expansion in the esophagus, with a high probability of pulmonary hemorrhage or hemoptysis, with diseases of the adrenal glands, bronchial asthma, and kidney or liver failure.

In case of an overdose, the possible symptoms are nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea. To alleviate the condition, symptomatic treatment is performed.
