With the onset of autumn days, it gets colder, and then trouble happens - the child has bronchitis ... Parents, of course, are not up to poetry, because they want the baby to grow up healthy. Moreover, the appearance of bronchitis can lead to long-term complications, and the disease itself can not be easily treated. A child with 2 years of age who is โacute bronchitisโ is much more affected than his mom or dad. Why is this happening?
The causes of bronchitis in children are always the same: immunity, features of the anatomy and environment. Do not forget that the "tuning" of the child's body to the upcoming adult life will continue for many more years. While the immune system of your child does not work at full strength, it is not yet able to recognize an attacking body infection and give it an effective rebuff. This is the first. In a child, especially in the first years of life, the bronchi are shorter and wider than in an adult. Consequently, the path of infection to the target is short and easy. Especially in damp and cold weather on the street, in indoor air dried by central heating, after regular communication with other children, and even with parents smoking with the baby.
The fact that
a child has bronchitis does not immediately become clear: he, insidious, skillfully disguises himself as the most common cold. Until the viruses develop inflammation before the mucous reaction in the form of sputum production, and a dry cough appears, by which it will be possible to recognize the enemy, two or three days will pass, and time will be missed. So call a doctor right away,
at the first sign of a cold. The sooner treatment begins, the lower the likelihood that bronchitis will appear at all.
Coughing is a warning signal: the body has turned on the protective mechanism and is trying to prevent the infection that has proliferated on the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, penetrate deeper and reach the bronchi and lungs. After such a warning, a visit to the doctor can no longer be postponed. Even if before this cold was quite tolerable and treated with home remedies. Any self-medication on the part of good parents is unacceptable! Especially with antibiotics. You will have only a 5 percent chance to cope with the disease, because in a child the bronchitis (like in an adult) is overwhelmingly caused by a viral infection, against which antibiotic drugs are powerless. So evil viruses will survive, but good microorganisms that form a natural protective barrier against pathogens will die. Another thing, if antibiotics are prescribed by a doctor, then this is a necessity.

A special warning to parents: do not even try to completely suppress a cough! And consult with your doctor about even the innocuous, seemingly
cough drops. Independent decision-making in this case is unacceptable. Tell me, are you sure that the child has bronchitis? And if it is masterfully masked by him and more severe bronchial asthma, whooping cough or
false croup? With them, suppression of coughing will contribute to a more severe course of the disease.
To actually alleviate the condition of a sick child, give him an emollient and cough. Do not forget to carefully read the instructions that came with the drug. Because antitussive drugs will be appropriate with a dry cough, but not with a wet one.
Remember also that bronchitis develops quickly, but the health of the child after it is restored slowly. Even when the disease receded, both strength and immunity will fully recover only after a month and a half.
