The seventh episode of the last season's release of Game of Thrones was watched by over twelve million viewers. IEE even called the series the most successful in its history. In anticipation of the last season of the most popular series of our time, it is worth recalling the chronology of Game of Thrones.
First season
The events of the series begin seventeen years after the rebellion of Robert Baratheon, who became the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms after Jaime Lannister killed King Airis Targaryen in the back.
In the first season, Lord Eddard Stark takes the place of the king's right hand. Lord Winterfell manages to find out that the father of Queen Cersei’s children is not her legal husband Robert at all, but her twin brother Jaime. In addition, Eddard also learns that the last right hand, John Arren (Guardian of the East), was killed and not died by his own death. The connection between the mysterious death of John Arren and information about the origin of the royal children is becoming apparent.
Eddard Stark intends to tell his long-time friend Robert Baratheon the truth that he managed to learn, but the king is suddenly killed by a wound that a boar caused him to hunt. Eddard is trying to seize the rightful heir - the brother of Robert Stannis, but Cersei has already managed to crown his son Joffrey Baratheon. Eddard Stark is accused of treason and publicly executed.
The chronology of the Game of Thrones series continues with Robb Stark, Eddard's eldest son, calling banners to save his father (while Lord Winterfell is being held in prison in King's Landing), and then to avenge his death. Robb is proclaimed king of the North.
At the same time, Viseris Targaryen, the son of the murdered King Eiris, is marrying the khala Drogo to his younger sister Daenerys over the Narrow Sea. The heir to the Seven Kingdoms hopes to enlist the support of a free people in order to return the Iron Throne to their family. Later Viseris is executed, and Drogo dies of a wound. During the burial of her husband, Daenerys enters the bonfire along with the dragon eggs that she gave for the wedding. Khalisi remains unharmed, and dragons hatch from the eggs.
In the North, the Night Watch brothers begin to hear rumors that Others (they are White Walkers) are approaching from behind the Wall. Rumors are confirmed when several corpses of scouts delivered to the Black Castle come to life.
Season Two Events
The chronology of the Game of Thrones events continues with Stannis trying to unite with Renly (both Robert’s brothers, who have the legal right to the throne), he refuses and Stannis kills his brother with the help of the Red Priestess. Later, he was defeated at Red Harbor, as the defense of the city used wild fire.
A much more serious war was approaching, so that all the Lords were looking for allies. Several marital unions were concluded: between Margery Tyrell and Joffrey Baratheon (previously the king was supposed to marry Sansa Stark, but she, as the daughter of a traitor, lost this opportunity), as well as between Mircella Baratheon (daughter of Cersei) and Tristan Martell. Petir Bailish also had to try to marry Lisa Arren so that the Knights of the Valley became allies of the Lannisters, and Robb Stark promised to marry one of the daughters of Lord Frey for letting the King of the North cross the river. However, the young man does not keep his promise and marries for love to another girl.
The chronology of the Game of Thrones continues beyond the Narrow Sea. Daenerys reached the free city of Quart and moved further west.
The plot of the third season
Lannister forces increased significantly after the conclusion of several profitable marriage unions. They did not enter into battle with the king of the North for a long time. Robb's army was experiencing food problems, in addition, one of his allies refused to continue the war, and the Lannisters could afford to take a wait and see attitude. The King of the North needed new allies, so he again turned to the Frey. Lord Frey agreed, but demanded that Edmur Tully (Robb's uncle) marry one of his daughters, as Robb himself promised.
Wedding Edmoor Tully and Roslyn Frey got the name Red Wedding. This was one of those events that shocked the audience the most. After the newlyweds went to the marriage bed, the Frey and Bolton betrayed the Starks. Robb, his pregnant wife, mother and virtually the entire army of the North was brutally murdered.
Fourth season: differences from the source
In the capital at this time, Lord Tywin insisted on two more favorable marriages. His daughter Cersei, who became a widow after Robert's death, was to marry Loras Tyrell, and Bes (aka Tyrion Lannister, a dwarf, half-husband) - to marry Sansa Stark.
Daenerys beyond the narrow sea continued to look for an army to set off to regain the Iron Throne. Khalisi freed the slaves from free cities, for which they joined her.
In Night Watch, at this time, for the first time in eight thousand years, people had to fight the White Walkers. Many of the black brothers from the Mormont expedition died, the survivors retreated to Craster Castle. There, too, there was a clash with the Others, during which Sam Tarley managed to escape. He took with him one of Craster's wives (she was also his daughter) - pregnant Jilly.
The chronology of Game of Thrones this season has been significantly different from the events described in the books. In the next episode, the wedding of Joffrey and Margery was shown. The king was poisoned at his own wedding, which Tyrion Lannister, Uncle Joffrey, was accused of. Tyrion and his newly-married wife Sansa Stark managed to escape. After Sansa, along with Petir, she went to her aunt in the Eagle's Nest.
After some time, a new religious group appeared in the capital - Sparrows, who did not spare even the members of the royal family. They later tried Cersei Lannister and Loras Tyrell.
At that time, in Snow Watch, John Snow was chosen as the new commander, Arya Stark reached Braavos, and Tyrion killed his father and fled beyond the Narrow Sea, intending to join Daenerys.
Fifth season
In season five, the chronology of Game of Thrones first focuses on Daenerys, who is fighting an uprising in Mierin. John Snow makes an alliance with the wild, but is faced with a misunderstanding of the black brothers, many consider him a traitor. Sansa Stark marries Ramsey Bolton, after a while she and Theon escape from the Boltons. In Dorn, sand snakes kill the daughter of Cersei and Jaime Mirzell.
Sixth season: Bran Stark's gift
Since the sixth season, Bran Stark has become one of the main characters. The boy discovers the gift in himself, later trains with the Three-eyed raven. From his visions, Bran learns that John Snow is not Ned Stark's bastard, but Lianna Stark's son. Beyond the Narrow Sea, Daenerys, who was captured by the Dothraki, burns a temple in which all the widows of the Khals live. She stands at the head of the horde of free people. At the end of the season, the chronology of Game of Thrones comes to a logical conclusion - as always astonishing for the audience. During the trial of Loras Cersei undermines the sect with the help of wild fire. Margery and her brother, as well as all Sparrows, die, and Tommen, Margery's new king and husband, ends his life by suicide.
Seventh season: not yet final
The seventh season is the last of those that are currently known to the audience. Confrontation now erupted between Cersei (many even call her the mad queen) and Daenerys.
Daenerys Burerozhennaya allies with Tyrell, Ellaria Sand, Theon and Yara Greydzhoy, John Snow, but soon loses almost all allies. Daenerys in a battle with the King of the Night loses one of the dragons. Queen Daenerys flew to the rescue of John Snow, who went beyond the Wall to capture one of the Others, and then deliver him to Cersei, proving to her that there was a much more dangerous threat from the North.
The chronology of the seasons of the Game of Thrones does not end there. They promise to show the last season on April 23, 2019.
