An anthelmintic drug is used in a volume calculated on the basis of body weight and age of the patient. Babies up to two years old are given 0.5 tablets of Pirantel. The dosage for children under 6 years is 1 capsule, up to 12 - 2 units, 3 pills are prescribed for adolescents and adults weighing up to 75 kg, 4 tablets for patients over 75 kg.
The medicine must be chewed well, it is consumed with food.
With ascariasis and enterobiasis, the medication is prescribed once in a volume of 10 mg per kilogram of patient’s body weight. With hookworm, the drug is used for three days in the same dosage. In complicated forms of necatorosis, the dose is doubled.
