Since Gwen Stacy died during the Green Goblin’s battle with Spider-Man, the Jackal vowed to take revenge on Peter Parker at all costs. To do this, he decided to create clones that are superior in strength and skills. The first of these was Cain Parker. But at some point, something went wrong.
Cain (Marvel Comics): a story
When Cain was created, the cloning process was disrupted, as a result of which the clone turned out to be deformed, with a clear mental disorder. Later, when a more successful copy came out, Cain was given the name Parker 3.0.
Over time, he became increasingly alienated and completely ceased to recognize his "father", but along with this, his skills intensified and increased. Indeed, in addition to the abilities of Peter, he also had his own unique skills. Take, for example, “Cain's Mark” - the allocation of acid blood, which leaves traces on the faces of the victims. But the Jackal did not notice these advantages, so he began to create a new clone.
Clone Saga
The next Jackal experiment led to positive results. So Ben Reilly (The Scarlet Spider) appeared - an ideal copy of Peter Parker. Satisfied with himself, he sends him to fight Spider-Man, but he wins the fight, after which Ben is considered dead.
When Jackal's plan failed, Norman Osborne decided to go for the trick. He made it look like Peter Parker is actually a clone, not Ben Reilly. Cain also learns about this (Marvel Comics, character photo below), who now begins to defend Peter, considering him his clone brother. While the Scarlet Spider becomes his number one goal.
For example, once during a surveillance of Ben Cain met a woman, a police officer. At first he likes her, but as soon as it turns out that she is corrupt, the girl ceases to exist. The police first decide that it is Peter Parker, because they have identical DNA, but Ben takes the blame. And only after some time Peter manages to make Cain surrender.
Since then, the clone paths have not crossed for a long time. The Scarlet Spider only appeared when he found out about Aunt May's illness. Immediately, as if by a click, Cain appeared, who immediately monitored Ben, and also in a very short time deleted several positions from Peter’s list of enemies.
He killed Otto Octavius, the Grim Hunter, and then attacked the Golden Seven, but he did not have time to deal with it, as Spider-Man prevented him. Another reason for his aggressiveness was the recent loss of Mary Jane, who died at the hands of an unknown psychopath. Peter did not like all this, and he again asked Cain to surrender, but he refused, and a fight broke out between them.
Judah the traveler, a character who can change reality, decided to understand the situation. During the battle of the two spiders, he staged a lawsuit that took place, for a second, in the building of the Ravencroft Psychiatric Hospital. Carnage was the prosecutor, several prisoners were selected as members of the jury, and Judas himself became a judge. Declaring Spider-Man guilty, he allowed prisoners to destroy him. But when he saw that Cain (Marvel Comics) defended Peter, completed the process, returning both to the place of battle.

After some time, Cain finds the lover of Otto Octavius - Stunner, who decided to avenge the death of her beloved. Her days would have been numbered, but in time, Spider-Man arrived in time and knocked him out and carried with him to hand him over to the police. But before this happened, Cain (Marvel Comics) woke up and said that all the crimes were committed in order to protect Peter. With great difficulty, but Spider-Man persuades his clone to surrender.
Clone Saga: The Great Games
When the richest man in the Marvel universe - James Jonesmeyer - decided to organize the Great Games, in which the strongest fighters fought each other, he invited Cain to participate. More precisely, he was going to force him to take part in his event. Cain did not like this attitude, so he, with the support of Shannon, one of the supporters of the rich man, fled from there.
Serious opponents were sent in their wake: the Joystick, Rhino and the North Star. In a battle with them, Cain (Marvel Comics) almost died, but Ben Reilly suddenly intervened and allowed the fugitives to escape.
Deciding to take revenge, they went to the headquarters of Jonsmeyer, where they destroyed all his guards. But it turned out that everything was planned, that Shannon was always on the side of Jonesmeyer and simply manipulated Cain. When the deceived clone tried to kill her, Ben Reilly appeared again and persuaded him not to do this. He listened to the Scarlet Spider, because during this time he began to treat him more friendly, but after that he left, promising that someday he would destroy everyone who supported the Great Games.
Clone Saga: Ultimate
In this universe, events developed in a completely different way. Of course, Cain was an unsuccessful copy of Peter Parker here too, but Dr. Octavius created it. In the story, he abducts Mary Jane to give her the abilities that turned her into a red monster. And only the appearance of Peter Parker returned the girl a human form. But for Cain, things didn’t work out in the best way when Agent Nick Fury (S.I.T.) appeared from behind Spider-Man with a crowd of spider hunters.
Abilities
Like the real Spider-Man, Cain (Marvel Comics) is fast, strong and hardy. From Peter Parker, he inherited all reflexes, feelings and abilities, including spider instincts, the use of the web and night vision.
But this version of the spider is more advanced. He has the ability of "clairvoyance", he secrets acid blood, is able to produce organic cobwebs, and his suit in the area of his fingers is equipped with sharp claws.
Cain (Marvel Comics): cartoon
In addition to comics, the character is found in the animated series Ultimate Spider-men. Somewhere in season four, he appears as a result of an Otto Octavius experiment and becomes the first to gain spider abilities.
