Police comedies have many rules and principles that filmmakers adhere to when they start work on their project. The presence of these fundamental rules guarantees a certain part of the success of the film among the viewer. He, knowing the predominant number of film stamps, watches a film in anticipation of a situation that the notorious principle makes inevitable.
Hollywood Comedy
Hollywood comedies about cops are traditionally homerically funny and show a high level of “immoral morality”. One of the most common tricks is considered to have come from the 80s structure: a duet of police officers - the capture of a criminal - comedic and curious situations. Such a structure worked flawlessly in every single film thanks to a successful tandem of leading actors, funny, slang-rich dialogs. Most American comedies about police were produced in a mixed genre - action comedy. The most famous can rightfully be considered paintings with the participation of the famous black comedian of the 80s - Eddie Murphy ("Beverly Hills Police Officer", "48 Hours"). They can compete with some tough films from the Lethal Weapon series, in which typical American vulgar, blasphemous and slang humor is found only in dialogs, and partners - complete opposites, over and over again fall into funny, but not very funny situations. A separate section in the comedies of America is the legendary "Police Academy."

Future law enforcers
The comedy "Police Academy" (1984-1994) is a comedy cycle, the series of which have enjoyed considerable success not only in the United States, but throughout the world. Various American sources call it a typical product of the cinema of the 80s under the conditional slogan: “Bad taste + sex”, which was identified in the downward assessment of the series. According to the witty and cynical definition, film critic L. Moltin: “Each time, it’s practically the same, but even worse.”
Comedy about the police 80-90
The quadrology "Lethal Weapon" (1987/1989 / 1992/1998), despite the obvious secondary character of the plot, is a true classic of the genre. Director Richard Donner managed to achieve excellent results in the implementation of the familiar plot on the screen. He masterfully used typical components of the genre of “police action movie” and effectively discharged tension with comedy episodes. At the same time, films are designed so as to surely arouse interest among different groups of the viewer. The first film did not have much success at the box office, but laid the perfect foundation for comedy about police mates to come out. Moreover, they were created by almost the same team: producer Joel Silver, co-producer and director Richard Donner, and the creative duo of the “crazy” Mel Gibson and the restrained Danny Glauver.
The trilogy “The Beverly Hills Police Officer” (1984, 1987, 1994) has a plot traditional for “police comedies” with fights, inexorable chases and shootings. The trilogy was incredibly successful and aroused great interest among the audience thanks to the rare comedic talent of black actor Eddie Murphy.
“Tracking” (aka “Ambush”, 1987) and “Tracking 2: Ambush Again” (1993). These paintings were shot by one of the successful Hollywood professionals of the 70–80s - director John Badham, who works in various genres. Therefore, the paintings can be confidently called not only "police films", but also romantic comedies.
Next generation
The film “Stop! Or my mother will shoot ”(1992) has the classic structure of a comedy about police officers - ten to fifteen minutes of humor, after a break for action. Although, according to the main idea, this picture reveals the themes of family relationships and human attention to others.
The trilogy "K-9 - Dog Work" (1989-2002). Rod Daniel’s work can easily be mistaken for a typical Hollywood product - entertaining, entertaining, entertaining and adventure. Parody, ironic details scattering the plot constructions of many (including those mentioned above) film works are scattered throughout the timing.
Dilogy "The Bad Boys 1-2" (1995-2003). Well-known US producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson deliberately focused on the plot of George Gallo to repeat the success of the Beverly Hills Police Officer trilogy. At the same time, the story of two cool teammates - police officers from Miami reminded the television project "Miami Police, Department of Morals", which had a high rating. Clip-advertising aesthetics and rap stylistics of the picture helped her to surpass the achievements of the “Beverly Hills Police Officer”.
Trilogy "Rush Hour" (1998-2007). The success of the funny police comedy film director Bret Ratner, many film critics have explained the ideas of the clash of West and East. Unlike a huge number of films about partners, Rush Hour went further - Negro Carter (Chris Tucker) slipped a police officer Lee (Jackie Chan) into his partners.
French police comedies
A series of comedy films with Louis de Funes "The Gendarme of Saint-Tropez" has a well-deserved right to open this category. Director Jean Giraud made the adventures of brave gendarmes famous by writing his name in the tabloids of the popularity of French and world cinema. Transferring the viewer to a friendly resort town, the author introduces the viewer to more than colorful and funny characters who constantly find problems for 6 parts (1964, 1965, 1968, 1970, 1979, 1982).
After watching the Wasabi comedy, one gets the impression that Luke Besson removes all his projects as “on the note”: everything is clear, rhythmic and witty. And since the director of the picture is Gerard Kravchik (“Taxi 2, 3, 4”), the structure of the picture clearly feels an easy connection with his other works.
Quadrology “Taxi” is the legendary brainchild of Luc Besson, who acted as screenwriter and producer, and director Gerard Piraeus. The entire franchise about the adventures of the scorcher taxi driver Daniel and police officer Emilien became the favorite of the public. Each part is saturated with spectacular chases, witty dialogs and funny humor. This project can be considered a great example of the French comedy action movie about the police.
