Yuri was born in the Khabarovsk Territory in Magadan on August 18, 1948. Almost all of his relatives connected their lives with film and television, so Yuri decided to continue their career. His mother used to work at the Ermolovsky Theater, but then she got to the camp. Father Yuri Alexander played in performances at the Moscow Theater, but his fate also did not work out. About 20 years he was forced to spend in various camps, and about 8 years - in his hometown in the mines. Father Yuri was slandered for allegedly telling a banned anti-Soviet joke. After the final release, the Demich family decided to stay in Kuibyshev. And their son was born already in Magadan, where Yuri's parents met. Alexander Demich played on stage with a very famous actor Georgy Zhzhenov. Yuri said that he certainly wants to go to college and not for the first, but immediately for the second year.
This was the first and only time that Yuri decided to use the authority of Alexander, his father. The fact is that Alexander Demich at that time worked at the school where Yuri wanted to go, and he could calmly agree to enroll his son there. From childhood, the young actor knew what theater was and loved to be at work with his father. Alexander was not against the choice of his son, but, on the contrary, even supported him. Young Yuri entered the studio, which was located at the theater, named after Maxim Gorky. Graduated from Demich in 1966.
