The Tokyo Ghoul Manga is a fantasy story created by Ishida Sui in 2011. Several volumes have already been published, but it has not yet been completed. And more recently, an anime series based on it was released.
Strange name, right? But it reflects quite well the essence of the Tokyo Ghoul story. The characters in this story are very colorful, and the plot tells us about the other side of the life of alternative Tokyo, where monsters live among people - ghouls, feeding on human flesh.
In a strange way, they manage to survive side by side, although humanity does not recognize the right of the ghouls to exist and wants to exterminate them all. And here in Tokyo there is a series of brutal murders, and everything indicates the involvement of ghouls ...
Who are the ghouls?
These are mystical creatures, seemingly not very different from ordinary people, but having supernatural abilities.
They can’t eat ordinary human food, because for them it’s like poison, but human flesh is perfectly digested. That is why ghouls prey on people as cattle, although some of them try to live in peace, posing as ordinary human beings. But, hunting for people, they put on special masks and slightly change, showing their inhuman essence.
Ghouls can breed, and their children are also ghouls. But there are special cases when ordinary people become ghouls. This is exactly what happens to the main character Kaneka.

Kaneki and plot plot
Ken Kaneki is an ordinary young guy who has never encountered ghouls. He studied, talked with friends and never thought that at least something supernatural could happen in his life.
But fate has other plans. Once in his favorite cafe "Anteyku" he met a sweet girl named Ridze. To his joy, she agrees to go on a date with him ... to a construction site. It is strange that this did not bother Ken.
It turns out that Ridze is a ghoul who decided to dine with his admirer. Turning into a monster, she attacks a bewildered guy and pierces him with her kaguna in the stomach. Fortunately for Kaneki, she does not have time to finish him off - poorly fixed steel beams fall on the ghoul.
Kaneks are urgently taken to the hospital and undergo a gastric transplant operation. Ironically, the doctors decide to transplant the stomach of Ridze, who died under the beams ...
So an ordinary young man at one moment turns into a half-walk, his life turns into a nightmare: he cannot eat ordinary food, his left eye turns red, and now he is forced to lead a double life.
Ken was lucky - he was received by the ghouls of the Anteyka cafe, taught to live with his current state, hunt and showed the other side of life.
Kaneki began to wear a blindfold on his left eye to hide his affiliation with the ghouls, got a job at Anteyka and is now trying to live a normal life, even if this does not work out too well.
Although Ken became half a ghoul, his character has not changed. He is still a modest, restrained youth, but at the same time very kind and optimistic. Kaneki is too trusting, which is why he often gets into various troubles. Take, for example, Ridze, because of which he is now a Tokyo ghoul.

Yes, "Anteyku" is otherwise known as the organization of the 20th district, engaged in tracing the bodies of suicides and storing them to feed the local ghouls.

Yoshimura
Yoshimura is a cafe manager. This is a good old ghoul, ready to help everyone who is unable to hunt on their own. It is he who takes Kaneka under his wing when he becomes a half-walk.

Renji Yoma
Renji Yomo is a tall, gray-haired man, the right hand of Yoshimura. He also works in Anteyku Cafe and is engaged in the search and supply of suicide meat.

Toka Kirishima
Toka Kirishima looks like a pretty sixteen-year-old girl, but is actually a ghoul. She lives a double life: she goes to school, communicates with other people, but at the same time she works as a waitress in the Anteyku cafe and hunts like a ghoul.
She has a completely ordinary appearance, which allows her to be quietly among people, not afraid that she will be revealed. At school, she is a modest and sweet girl, but as a ghoul, she changes dramatically. It is no longer possible to recognize that calm girl with a bang in her right eye - this is a reckless and vengeful ghoul.
From the very first meeting, she disliked Kaneki, believing that he simply did not understand those who were a ghoul from birth. But then she is paired with him in training, and she changes her mind about the guy. Communication with Ken has a very positive effect on Toka's character: she becomes softer and kinder to others.
Toka has a phobia - she is very afraid of birds. The fact is that as a child, one bird pecked her next to her right eye. Since then, the girl began to wear her bangs to one side, protecting him.
Toki's mask is a rabbit.
Tokyo Ghoul: Uta
Uta is a ghoul, an old friend of Renji. His appearance, to put it mildly, is frightening: strange clothes, a lot of tattoos and an absent look. However, it is in perfect harmony with his profession - he has his own art studio in the fourth district, where he makes excellent masks for people and ghouls.
Despite his insensitive appearance, Uta is very friendly, although he does not miss the opportunity to cheat or tease someone. He, like all ghouls, has special abilities: super-speed, quick reflexes, huge inhuman strength and almost instantaneous regeneration.
There are other interesting personalities in Anteyka, but it is worth mentioning other organizations of the Tokyo Monster series.
Organizations: CCG
This is the main human organization in the Tokyo Ghoul universe, whose characters must destroy highly dangerous ghouls that kill people.
People mainly work in CCG, since the selection is based on a special detector that detects ghoul cells (RC cells). This is a very large organization, successfully operating in all areas of the city.
The goal of the CCG is to protect the general public from ghouls.
Organizations: Aogiri
This is a ghoul organization dominating the 11th district, which is run by the One-eyed King.
Little is known about Aogiri: neither the exact number of its participants, nor the final goals, even the leader, are known only by their pseudonym. In the series, the characters only encounter the deputies of the One-Eyed King.
One thing is clear: this is a brutal organization of ghouls, opposing CCG and very loving fresh little man.
"Tokyo Ghoul" - a rather
interesting anime, not much different from the manga in the story, which managed to win the love of fans. In the first season there were only 12 episodes, but we can say with confidence that this is far from the end. After all, many liked the "Tokyo Ghoul."
