In many cultures, rice is as popular as bread in Russia. A lot has been said about the beneficial properties of rice . In the absence of this mode, rice porridge in a slow cooker can be cooked using the "Stew" or "Soup" mode, depending on the model of the device. Cooking time in slow cookers is 40-50 minutes, in pressure cookers - about 30.

Rice must first be washed. In a slow cooker, pour 4-6 measured glasses of water and / or milk (depending on the required density of porridge) per 1 glass of rice and select the appropriate cooking mode.

- rice is boiled in water until half cooked, and then it is drained, and porridge is boiled using milk;

Proportions: as a standard, one glass of rice groats for 4 glasses of water and / or milk is used for cooking.

For those who prefer porridge with a less saturated consistency, the amount of milk or water can be increased to 6-7 glasses.

If necessary, milk is replaced with water.

Rice is added to boiling water or milk. Its preparation time depends on the variety used and is about 20 minutes.

Not so important, preparing rice porridge in a slow cooker or on a stove. It is not recommended to add butter to it during cooking, since heat treatment destroys the beneficial substances contained in it.

Salt and sugar are added to taste. When cooking, you can refuse to use sugar, and you can sweeten the porridge with various additives from berries, fruits, candied fruits, nuts, honey or jam.
