"Azicide" is an antibiotic with a wide spectrum of action. The drug belongs to the group of azalides. The drug allows you to fight diseases caused by pathogens such as streptococci, gram-positive cocci, anaerobic microorganisms and gram-negative bacteria. However, as described in the instructions for use, "Azicide" is ineffective for ailments provoked by gram-positive microorganisms insensitive to erythromycin.
Composition as well as release form

When appointed

The drug for children
As for children, the duration of the course and dosage should be determined by the doctor. As described in the instructions for use, tablets "Azicide" for children are rarely prescribed. Dosage is determined based on the weight of the child. Usually, 10 mg / kg is prescribed only once a day. In this case, the course is 3 days.
Also, 10 mg / kg can be prescribed only on the first day of therapy, and then 5-10 mg / kg for another 3-4 days.

Are there any side effects?
"Azicide" is an antibiotic. Like any drug in this group, it can cause side effects:
- Gastrointestinal tract: often (in 3% of cases) nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain are noted. Rarely (in 1% of cases), vomiting, cholestatic jaundice, flatulence, dyspepsia, melena, and an increase in liver transaminase activity can occur. A child may develop anorexia, constipation, or gastritis.
- Cardiovascular system: side effects such as increased heart rate, pain in the chest area are occasionally noted.
- Nervous system: headache, drowsiness and vertigo are rarely noted, and in children - neurosis, anxiety, hyperkinesia, sleep disturbances.
- Skin rash, photosensitization, Quincke edema, urticaria and pruritus.
- Vaginal candidiasis, nephritis.
- Fatigue, conjunctivitis, etc.
It is worth considering that some substances can reduce the effect of taking "Azicide", for example, antacids, ethanol, lincosamides, and some increase the effect of chloramphenicol, tetracycline. Therefore, the intake of certain drugs should be discussed with your doctor.
