For almost 40 years, the Art Gallery in Naberezhnye Chelny every day opens the door to those who love and understand art. Here visitors are welcomed, who are becoming more and more every year.
History
In 1980, the State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan created an art branch in Naberezhnye Chelny, the second largest city in the republic, a large industrial center. For the newly created cultural center, a building is being constructed in the constructivist style, lined with polished granite.
Valuable originals are transferred to the fund of the Art Gallery in Naberezhnye Chelny from the State Museum, including works of decorative and applied and folk art, original paintings and sculptures.
Today, the museum has almost 700 objects, among them paintings of the mid-20th century, paintings by masters of the brush of Tatarstan, high-quality reproductions of Western European creations.
Gallery Life
In a small area of ​​400 m2, objects of art are exhibited, creating a holistic picture of the development of painting in Tatarstan and the world.
In the cozy halls of the Picture Gallery (Naberezhnye Chelny), exhibitions are regularly held from the largest museums in Russia, in particular from the Hermitage, the Museum of the East, the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Historical Museum and others. Beginners and recognized artists of not only Tatarstan, but also Udmurtia, Turkey, Armenia, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan organize personal and thematic events, presenting their creations.
Exhibition Activities
Regularly holds the Picture Gallery (Naberezhnye Chelny) exhibitions on a variety of topics. Significant events in the cultural life of the city and interesting for many citizens were such exhibitions as:
- "Art of Italy";
- works of Salvador Dali;
- "Saved Treasures" from the funds of the Irbit Museum of Fine Arts;
- works of the famous Russian artist Nikas Safronov and others.
In 2017, an exhibition was held dedicated to the city of Mechanical Engineers, its construction and the start of production of the best trucks - KAMAZ trucks.
The event "Catalog of Love", organized in the summer of 2017, brought together 18 contemporary Russian artists. Under the chords of the instrumental duet, viewers were able to choose 3 winning paintings.
The gallery halls regularly exhibit works by local artists creating tapestries, oil and watercolors, working in applied techniques, and abstract art.
On New Year's Eve, an exhibition of young talents is traditionally held under the inspirational title “Homeland, Family, Friends”.
Events
The art gallery in Naberezhnye Chelny is not just a museum, it is the center of the actual cultural life of the city. The staff is conducting a large educational work.
Arriving here, you can get to one-time lectures or lecture cycles, conversations and meetings with artists, literary and musical evenings and master classes.
The art gallery actively participates in such large-scale all-Russian projects as “Night at the Museum”, “Night of the Arts”, and also annually holds a regional action “Artist of the Year”.
The poster of the Art Gallery (Naberezhnye Chelny) is constantly updated with new activities that are interesting for different ages and generations. Charity workshops and hand-made fairs are often held. It is interesting for townspeople and tourists to participate in a mini-quest through the city parks, as well as through the avant-garde sculpture square located nearby on Enthusiast Boulevard.
How talents grow
The art gallery in Naberezhnye Chelny takes care of the future. After all, the museum funds should be replenished with new modern works of young talents.
For this, the gallery has a creative studio for children 6-12 years old “Steps”. It is led by a member of the Union of Artists of Russia M. Mingaleev.
For others who want to learn how to embody their vision of life on canvas, the workshop “Print Cabinet” works. Also, the gallery staff holds an open air every Thursday in the fresh air of Enthusiasts Boulevard. At this time, each visitor can receive drawing lessons.

How the gallery works
Only on Monday the gallery closes for visitors. But on weekdays the museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00. On Thursday, a special schedule - from 11 to 19 hours. It should be noted that the ticket office closes half an hour earlier.
In addition, the gallery is closed on the last Tuesday of every month.
The cost of a ticket for adults is 50-60 rubles, for schoolchildren - 20-30, for pensioners - up to 40 rubles. If you book a tour, then it will cost 60 rubles.
