Numerous immunopharmacological tests have shown that this medicine for children has the following actions:
- increased formation of IgA - antibodies that are produced in the mucosa of the respiratory organs and saliva;
- an increase in the number of circulating T-lymphocytes.
Intended for the child, “Broncho-Vaxom” significantly reduces the incidence and severity of acute forms of infectious pathological phenomena in the airways, significantly reduces their duration, reduces the likelihood of exacerbation of chronic forms of bronchitis, tracheitis and other pathologies. Product release form and composition
The drug is available in hard capsules containing a cream-colored drug powder under an opaque shell.
According to the information from the instructions for use of this medication for children, the children's Broncho-Vaxom contains the active substance in the form of standardized bacterial lysate lyophilisates (Streptococcus pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella ozaenae, Staphylococcus aureus and others) 3.5 mg .
Also, the content of the drug includes some excipients that are used to create the capsule shell, namely:
- anhydrous propyl gallate (E310) - 0.042 mg;
- monosodium glutamate (corresponds to sodium glutamate anhydrous) - 1.515 mg;
- pregelatinized starch - 110 mg;
- mannitol - in the required amount until 200 mg;
- magnesium stearate - 3 mg.
The capsule shell of the children's Broncho-Vaxom includes:
- titanium dioxide (E171) - 1 mg;
- indigo carmine (E132) - 0.01 mg;
- gelatin - in the required amount - up to 50 mg.
Indications of the children's "Broncho-Vaxom"
The drug is used to treat children from 6 months to 12 years of age according to the following indications:
- prevention of recurrent infectious processes in the airways and periods of exacerbation of chronic forms of bronchitis;
- complex therapy of infectious pathologies of the respiratory tract of an acute nature.
Method of use
"Broncho-Vaxom" for children is prescribed orally in one capsule of the drug daily on an empty stomach in the morning until the symptoms of the disease completely disappear, however, the duration of use is at least ten days. In cases where the child has received antibiotic therapy, it is recommended to take it in combination with an antibiotic from the very beginning of treatment.
The duration of treatment with this medication or the appointment of an additional course of therapy should be determined by a specialist, taking into account the general condition of the child and other indicators, which include the frequency of relapse of pathologies of the respiratory organs, the severity of their course, etc.
For prophylactic treatment, Broncho-Vaxom is prescribed as a maintenance therapy, one capsule daily on an empty stomach in the morning.
A preventive course, as a rule, includes 3 cycles, each of which should consist of ten days of taking the medication, followed by an interval of twenty days. So it is necessary to repeat three times.
In cases where the child cannot swallow the capsule, it is allowed to open it, pour out the contents and mix it with drink in the form of any liquid, including juices, milk, tea, etc. The price of Broncho-Vaxom is presented below.
Adverse reactions from the use. Contraindications
The drug "Broncho-Vaxom" children tolerated, as a rule, well. The results of some clinical trials suggest that the likelihood of mild side effects is approximately 3-5%.
