Emma Frost ("Marvel") is known to fans of comic books about superheroes under the pseudonym White Queen. She has an extremely attractive appearance, which she often uses for personal, selfish purposes. And the girlās wonderful superpowers put her on a par with such famous and strong characters as Charles Xavier and Jean Gray. After little Emma discovered the gift of telepathy, she became one of the most treacherous villains the X-Men faced. However, later she still sided with the good, which is a very common story among superheroes.
Childhood
Emma Frost belongs to the family of one of the oldest merchant families of Boston and the whole of America. The girl's parents, Winston and Hazel Frost, were particularly strict in raising their children, of whom they had four. Despite the fact that it was difficult to keep track of everyone, the stern father still found a reason to express his demands. Little Emma was completely inconspicuous, but her classmates found many reasons to play a trick on her. Studying with her was difficult, for which she repeatedly received reprimands. The only support during this difficult time was school teacher Jan Kendall, with whom in the future a young telepath started an affair. It was during these years that she noticed that she was different from others. Annoying, unfamiliar voices that belonged to those around her began to sound in her head. At first it frightened the girl, but later she learned to use this gift for her own benefit.
Youth
There are 2 versions of how Emma Frost (Marvel) grew up and developed later. The biography of a young girl in one of the cases continues in a specialized institution for the mentally ill, where her parents sent her after learning about her daughterās unusual abilities and despaired of taking her to see psychiatrists and other doctors. There she acquired a faithful company, and in the end, with the help of the power of thought, she was able to escape. In the updated version, the mutant girl begins to actively use her telepathy at school, so her grades are rapidly improving. Thus, she manages to earn the respect of her father, who is happy to ready to entrust her with a family business. However, Emma Frost makes her own plans for the future and decides to achieve everything on her own.
Hell fire
From the family budget, she takes a fairly modest amount, which is necessary for new beginnings. Gradually, the girl begins to realize the full value of her gift and lights up with thoughts of achieving great goals. When Emma Frost (Marvel) was still at university, she met another telepathy owner who teaches her how to use her talent skillfully. Around the same time, she becomes blonde, and appearance is now one of her main advantages and means of manipulation. The girlās career goes uphill, thanks to which she is noticed by Sebastian Shaw, who is one of the members of the Hellfire Club, and also a mutant. Thus, she enters into this dubious club. Having learned about the cunning plans of the organizationās leaders, which may result in the death of many mutants, Emma Frost (āMarvelā) and Shaw seize power, and together they become the White Queen and the Black King.
X-Men
At the same time, the superheroine has her own students at the Massachusetts Academy, where gifted, that is, mutants, are trained along with ordinary teenagers. They began to be called Hellions, and their leader and mentor was precisely the young Emma Frost ("Marvel"). The X-Men met her for the first time when they went in search of the abducted Jean Gray. That time they won, resulting in a short-term coma of Emma. The warring factions after this clashed several more times, but the most massive was the battle with Trevor Fitzroy, where everyone took part. By that time, the girl left the Hellfire Club, but this did not save her from a long coma. Transferring her consciousness to the body of Bobby Drake, she learns that most of the Hellions died during the battle. This was a heavy blow, as a result of which she repented and decided to correct the mistakes of the past. She successfully restores her reputation and honor to fallen students by speaking out against the Phalanx along with Banshee, Sabretooth and Jubilee. After that, the good-natured professor Xavier gives her a chance and puts at the head of a group of rescued young mutants called the Generation X. So, Emma Frost finally sided with the good and later even entered the X-Men team.
Telepathy
As already mentioned, Emma is a strong telepath and has been training since childhood, bringing her abilities to perfection. Her gift is almost as powerful as that of Charles Xavier himself, which makes her one of the few mutants that can use Cerebro. She can easily read thoughts, communicate telepathically with other people, and also erase any events from someone else's memory. The list of her talents does not end there, because you can influence a personās inner world in a huge number of ways. In addition, she has a university degree and natural talents, which also greatly contribute to the achievement of complex goals.
Diamond body
Telepathy is not the only mutation Emma Frost is exposed to. "Marvel" gives his heroes a variety of different. And in gifted people, they do not always manifest themselves in childhood. Already in adulthood, the White Queen, it is under this name that the heroine is known in the world, she received another gift. Thanks to the secondary mutation, Emma is able to turn her body into a strong diamond substance. It is practically impossible to hurt, and the body weight is several times greater than the present. Even if you damage some part of this shell, leaving this state and returning, it will again become whole. However, this ability has its drawbacks. Firstly, Emma Frost is deprived of feelings and emotions, which means that she can accidentally harm anyone. Secondly, she is also not able to use the power of her primary mutation. In part, this is also a plus, since the girlās consciousness also does not lend itself to someone else's telepathic influence.
Relations with other characters
At first, after switching to the good side, the other mutants were suspicious and wary of the girl. However, later, more than once proving her loyalty, she even managed to become the leader of the Xavier Institute. Almost immediately, she made friends with Scott Summers, who at that time was in a relationship with Jean Gray. After the death of Phoenix, a new pair instantly forms - Cyclops and Emma Frost (Marvel), which most mutants, especially Wolverine, do not approve. However, later discontent is weakened when Emma stands at the head of the Institute and successfully copes with her duties.
To the cinema
The fictional character Emma Frost, in addition to comics, also appeared in films about the X-Men. For the first time she lit up on the screen in a solo picture about Logan's "People-X. Start. Wolverine". True, there her role was completely insignificant. At the very end of the picture, the heroes release the captive mutants, among which you can see a young girl with a diamond body. But in the 2011 film X-Men: First Class, Emma Frost appeared as one of the central characters. There she became the right hand of the main villain of the picture, Sebastian Shaw. She skillfully manipulates other heroes and uses her beautiful body and telepathy for selfish purposes. She was very successfully embodied on the screen by actress January Jones. No new film appearances are planned yet, but perhaps in the future, viewers will see the excellent White Queen in theaters more than once.
