The list of necessary products is indicated in 3-4 servings. To cook this dish, you should take about 1 kilogram of ordinary white cabbage. Young will cook much faster. In this case, pork (400 g) will be used, it is recommended to take meat not too fat.
From vegetables, onions and carrots are used, for such a number of servings it is enough to take 100-150 g of each product. You should also take 1-2 tablespoons of tomato paste, sugar and spices. Cabbage is very fond of various spices and herbs, so you can safely use marjoram, bay leaf, cloves, coriander, various types of pepper.
How to cook?
To prepare a delicious stewed cabbage with meat, you must follow the step by step instructions:
- It is necessary to prepare and cut all the ingredients. Finely chop the cabbage, if you cannot make a thin straw with a knife, then it can be chopped using a peeler.
- Peel and rinse the carrots and onions. Carrots should be grated, and onions can be cut into small or medium cubes.
- The meat can be cut into any slices that you like best, but it is recommended that they be cubed about 3 by 3 centimeters.
- Take a pan with a thick bottom, pour a small amount of vegetable oil and fry the meat on it.
- When the pork gets a crispy crust, put onions and carrots to it, fry until almost ready.
- Now you can put chopped cabbage in a pan, mix everything thoroughly and fry the vegetable over high heat for several minutes. Then reduce the heating to almost the minimum, cover the pan with a lid and simmer the food for about one hour.
- 15 minutes before the end of the heat treatment, add tomato paste, salt, pepper and all the necessary spices.
- Stir everything and simmer until the cabbage is soft.

Spicy cabbage with chicken
Chicken meat and mushrooms are already used in this recipe, and instead of usually tomato paste, it is recommended to use acute adjika. Then the taste of the dish will turn out to be moderately sharp and slightly unusual, because most of us perceive stewed cabbage with chicken meat as light and dietary food. For 1 kilogram of white cabbage, you need to take up to 500 g of chicken meat, 100 grams of carrot, onion and bell pepper. To improve the taste of products at the end of cooking, you need to add 150-200 g adjika. If you like spicy dishes, you can also take half or a whole chili pepper.

Preparing this kind of stewed cabbage with meat is quite simple. The first step is to prepare all the products. Peppers, carrots, onions, peel and wash. Grate the carrots, and cut the pepper and onion into strips. Cabbage should be finely chopped, the most even and thin slices are obtained when processing a vegetable with a peeler.
The meat must be cut into small medium cubes, put it in a deep bowl, add a small amount of vegetable oil and spices. Of the spices you can use turmeric, curry and thyme. Take a pan with a thick bottom, heat it well, add vegetable oil and fry the chicken on it. After that add all the other prepared foods.
Itβs good to fry everything, you can add more vegetable oil, cabbage loves this ingredient. After covering the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to a minimum. Stir occasionally, stew foods until they are soft. When the desired degree of product readiness is achieved, you can add adjika and all other spices.
Cabbage with vegetables and meat must be thoroughly mixed and cooked over low heat for a few more minutes. Spices should give their flavors to the rest of the ingredients. After that, the dish can be served on the table, sprinkled with a small amount of chopped greens.
Stewed sauerkraut
If you have sauerkraut at home, you can also stew it, the taste of this vegetable changes dramatically. It turns out more interesting and rich. This recipe uses several types of meat, which makes this dish incredibly satisfying and delicious.
For a family of 4-5 people, you need to take 1-1.2 kg of cabbage, 200 g of pork meat and 150 g of smoked bacon and sausage. To make the consistency of the dish more dense, 1-2 tablespoons of flour are needed. From vegetables according to this recipe, onions, carrots and tomatoes are used, you also need to take apples. All vegetables and fruits should be used for 1-2 pieces.
When cooking, you can use any spices you like.
Cooking cabbage
The first thing to do is prepare the cabbage, since it is fermented, you need to remove excess acid from it. To do this, pour water into the pan, add bay leaf, pepper and peas; if desired, you can put a bouillon cube. Throw the required amount of cabbage into the water, cover it with a lid and cook until the vegetable is soft.
All meat products need to be cut into medium or small cubes, fry in a pan. You also need to fry chopped onions and grated carrots on a coarse grater.
When the cabbage is boiled, it needs to be pulled out in a colander and drained. Put the vegetable in a pan with a thick bottom, add all the meat products and vegetables. Fry all the products a little more, then cover and reduce heat.
In the meantime, blanch the tomatoes. To do this, from the bottom of the vegetable, you need to make two small cuts perpendicular to each other. Dip the tomato in boiling water for a few seconds, then immediately cool it with running cold water. Now with a knife you can easily remove the skin. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes. Peel the apple and grate it, add these two ingredients to the pan to the rest of the products.
Now you need to take another pan, put 1-2 tablespoons of flour there and fry it until golden brown. When it is ready, it should be thrown in a pan to the cabbage, mix everything thoroughly and simmer for a few more minutes. Now the braised cabbage is ready. It remains only to lay it out on portioned plates and decorate with greens.
Cabbage with potatoes
Very often, a mixture of potatoes and cabbage is used as a side dish. There is one big advantage to such a dish. As already reported, cabbage is an incredibly healthy product that is rich in various vitamins. Potatoes are a very nutritious vegetable that you can eat tightly. Together, these two products turn into a unique side dish. Cooking it is quite simple and fast.

To cook a delicious stewed cabbage with potatoes, you need to take one small head of white cabbage, 4-5 large potatoes, 100-150 grams of onions with carrots and a few cloves of garlic. Of the spices, curry, bay leaf, peppercorns and ground ginger should be used. It is recommended to fry and cook foods in butter, but you can also use regular vegetable.
Cooking
First you need to chop cabbage. This recipe does not contain specific instructions on the shape of the cut, it can be chopped with small strips, or with checkers (small cubes ~ 2 by 2 centimeters). Cut the carrots into small pieces or half rings. Chop onion and garlic into small cubes. Cut the potatoes with a medium dice.
Now we proceed directly to cooking, in a pan you need to fry the onions and carrots, set them aside. Now put all the other ingredients, reduce the heat and add about 500 ml of water.
Stew all foods for 20 to 35 minutes. At the end of cooking, you can add your favorite spices or bouillon cube. Cook until all ingredients are soft. If desired, a little fried sausage can be added to the dish.
Cabbage with sausages
This option for cooking cabbage can be considered children's, there are no "heavy" products, and almost every child loves sausages. And that is how it can be made to eat such unloved foods as vegetables.
To cook 3-4 servings of this dish, you need to take up to 800 grams of ordinary cabbage, several sausages, one large onion and carrot. You can also take a few tomatoes and bell peppers. In this case, you get a wonderful vegetable mixture.
If the child will eat the dish, then it is not recommended to be too fond of spices. It will be enough to use only bay leaves, peppercorns and salt.
