early years

Seth MacFarlane was born on October 26, 1973 in Kent, Connecticut, USA. Already at two years old, the boy began to draw on paper the heroes of his favorite cartoons. After a couple of years, the parents presented the little artist with a book about animation. And so, at the age of nine, the young animator begins to earn money by publishing a weekly comic in the newspaper of his native city. The first work of Seth MacFarlane in the photo below.

First comic

In 1991, McFarlane graduated from high school, but he was not going to finish experiments with animation. Parents presented a video camera and Seth began to study film and animation at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he created his first animated film “Larry's Life”. After graduating from college, Seth MacFarlane began working as an animator and screenwriter at the popular animation studio Hanna-Barbera. Here he took part in the creation of projects such as Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Lab, and also wrote the script for the animated television version of Ace Ventura: Pet Tracing. In 1997, Seth finished work on his second animated film "Larry and Steve." He began to be shown on television, which was the impetus for the creation of a full-fledged animated series.

"Family Guy"

The characters of "Larry and Steve" became the prototypes for the main characters of the biggest work of Seth MacFarlane. Talking dog Steve and the awkward man Larry have remained in the story. In 1998, a family appeared on the screens, headed by Peter Griffin - a vain egoist with an extremely low level of intelligence, but confident in his genius. He has a job, friends, and a loving wife, Lois Griffin, a conservative but very versatile woman. The couple has three unlike each other children - Chris, Meg and Stewie. Closes the family Brian Griffin - an anthropomorphic labrador, philosophizing on the topic of existence, singing along to Frank Sinatra, a politician and public figure.

The series "Family Guy"

The animated series "Family Guy" has been on the air for 20 years. During this time, the public saw almost 300 issues. In all the series, Seth MacFarlane, voicing almost half of the characters, through the stories of his characters, tries to ridicule the vices and shortcomings of the “big” and “small” people. The humor of the series, which is mainly found in non-plot inserts, touches on extremely sensitive issues, such as obesity and disability. For this, the animator was often prosecuted through litigation, and the series was officially closed several times. One way or another, the Griffins have 16 nominations for the Emmy Award, 11 for the Annie Prize, and one Emmy nomination for the Best Comedy Series.

Other jobs

Continuing work on "Family Guy," Seth MacFarlane takes part in the creation of another animated series, "American Dad!" The story unfolds around a family whose head is a CIA agent, and a pet - an alien. In 2008, on the YouTube platform, the comedian published a cut of animated sketches called "Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Animated Comedies." In two days, more than three million people watched it. In 2009, the Cleveland Show, a spin-off of the Family Guy, appeared on television. In 2011, the animator shares with the public the product of his hobby - the first music album "Music Better Than Words". In 2012, Seth MacFarlane’s debut feature film, The Third Extra, was released, which tells about the friendship of a guy named John and a talking teddy bear.
