The songs of the âFlowersâ ââgroup still evoke pleasant memories of young years, true friendship and first love. But few people know that it is Alexander Losev (photo below) that is the voice of the group, and only thanks to his talent this music gained wide popularity and recognition in the 70-80s.
Young years of Alexander Losev
Sasha was born in 1949. His father was a secretary of the Moscow City Party Committee. Even at school age, the boy fell in love with music and learned to play the guitar well. At school, he constantly took part in amateur performances, and in his student years he was a soloist in local ensembles. Alexander Losev was distinguished by good hearing and a unique voice, therefore, in his repertoire were songs of various genres.
Student time
After graduating from school, Sasha entered the Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering. At this time, he met with Stas Namin, who studied at the Institute of Foreign Languages. His new friend was an ambitious, determined and creative young man. So they began their creative work together. It can be noted that it was Namin who formed the âFlowersâ ââthat glorified these talented guys. In their student years, they were carried away by a new hippie movement for them, which to some extent affected their work.
Musicians and novice groups throughout Moscow loved to gather in the basement of the Energetik recreation center, and Alexander Losev and his friend became regular participants there. Like most other young groups, future âFlowersâ ââperformed already famous compositions. They played The Beatles, Rolling, and they were invited by little-known clubs in the city to fill in musical minutes for 10 rubles.
Alexander Losev: biography of success
An important step in the work of Losev was his participation in the ensemble of A. Kozlov. It was also an interesting stage in his life, as they performed jazz with elements of rock. Alexander was the soloist, and their repertoire included compositions by foreign groups such as Chicago. At the same time, his friend Stas dreamed that together they would record a disc with several songs that the guys performed in the ensemble.
But new acquaintances dramatically changed the life of a talented artist. Sasha and Stas began to communicate with musicians Sergey Dyachkov and Vladimir Semenov, who invited them to make their own album. It included "Asterisk", "Do not" and "There are eyes in the flowers." These three compositions were combined in a forty-five-piece record, which sold over seven million copies. Further in 1972-73. they recorded a record from Melody. Since then, the group of Alexander Losev has become popular and has gained many fans.
In 1974, âFlowersâ ââdelighted the listeners with the next disc, on which such hits as âLullabyâ, âYou and Meâ, âHonestlyâ, âMore Lifeâ sounded. At this time, the young group took a step in their professional activities at the Moscow Philharmonic.
Further activities of Losev
VIA "Flowers" finished their "flower" activities in 1978, and the band members played under the leadership of Stas Namin. But the soloist Alexander is arranged to sing in the VIA "Red Poppies". There he performs âMirrorâ, âInsomniaâ, âEverything That Wasâ, âKiss for the Belovedâ, âHow to Stop Loving Youâ.
Namin and Losev met again in 1980 on tour. Stas persuaded a friend to become a soloist of his group.
It is interesting that the famous song âWe wish you happinessâ, recorded for the youth festival, is associated with many with Alexander Losev, because he played the main part in this composition.
In the late eighties, the group broke up, and Losev recruited his composition with young talents.
The last performances of Alexander Losev took place in Haifa and Tel Aviv in 2004 from January 23 to 25. There he performed his most famous hits of past years.
Personal life
1974 was successful for Alexander for another reason. This year he got married. Three years later, his life was marked by another joyful and long-awaited event - Losev appeared heir Nikolai. But, like many other talented musicians, Alexander Losev did not know how to combine creativity, business and family responsibilities, which is why not everything went smoothly in his family.
Unfortunately, his beloved son died at the age of eighteen. This tragedy entailed the break of marriage with his wife, who soon remarried. After the death of the heir, the singer changed, he began to smoke a lot, lost weight, and the performance of songs became more penetrating.
On the Sunset
In his last interview, Alexander Losev admitted that he feels lonely, despite the fact that in his life there are a lot of good friends. And this is not surprising, because he was pursued by misfortunes, especially in his personal life. Shortly before his death, Alexander was diagnosed with lung cancer (grade III). After surgery, he underwent enhanced chemotherapy. A few weeks later, he already went on his last tour to Israel, since the treatment was considered successful.
After the speech, on February 1, 2004, Losev was at his girlfriend's birthday party, where he drank some alcohol, which provoked an instant death. He was 54 years old.
