Anestezol (candles): instructions for use

As the main active substance, the drug contains benzocaine. Its presence reaches 100 mg in one candle. Additional components are listed below:

  • bismuth subgallate - 40 mg;
  • zinc oxide - 20 mg;
  • menthol - 4 mg.

In pharmacies, you can find various forms of drug release. Anestezol (candles) is available packaged in cardboard boxes of 5 or 10 pieces, depending on the manufacturer. The candles themselves are dark yellow suppositories. Their shape is closer to the shape of a torpedo.

Before using Anestezol suppositories, the instructions must be read, because There are a number of contraindications:

  • the drug is not recommended for the treatment of children under 12 years of age;
  • with caution and only under the supervision of a doctor, should be used by pregnant women, as well as young mothers during lactation;
  • some components of anestezole can cause allergies in people located to it. Use with caution.

According to the instructions, for the best penetrating effect, suppositories are recommended to be administered after a cleansing enema or bowel movement. The recommended dosage is 1 or 2 suppositories up to two times a day. For children over 12, the medicine is prescribed according to the same schedule, if there were no other medical recommendations.
