The medicine "Fluorocortic ointment" is intended for external use. The drug belongs to moderately active glucocorticosteroids (hormone-containing agents), intended for the treatment of skin diseases.

Ointment "Fluorocort" is a white mass of uniform consistency, practically odorless.

The active ingredient is triamcinolone acetonide. Auxiliary components: purified water, glycerol, liquid paraffin, polysorbate, cetyl alcohol, stearic acid, methyl parahydroxybenzoate.

The mechanism of drug action is based on the ability to enhance the formation of lipocortins, inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators by eosinophils, reduce the number of mast cells and stabilize their membranes.

The medication is prescribed for keloid and hypertrophic scars, photodermatoses, dermatitis of various nature (including allergic ones), psoriasis, eczema. The medicine "Fluorocort" (ointment), the instruction also recommends for insect bites, discoid lupus erythematosus, lichen planus.

Accumulating in the epidermis, the active substance (triamcinolone) reduces exudation (exit of the liquid blood part from the vessel) and itching. In addition, the component has an anti-edematous, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Triamcinolone has poor absorption when applied topically. In this regard, the systemic effect that he exerts is insignificant. When applying the drug to areas with impaired integument or with an occlusive dressing, the absorption of the active substance increases.

The medicine "Fluorocort" (ointment) is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. A medication is not prescribed for individual intolerance, precancerous and tumor pathologies of the skin, perioral dermatitis, skin manifestations of syphilis and tuberculosis of the skin.

To apply the Fluorocort (ointment) product, the instruction recommends a thin layer two or three times a day (no more than ten grams per day).

As a rule, therapy is continued for five or ten days, with a persistent course of pathology - up to twenty-five days. The use of this drug for more than four weeks is not recommended.

The side effects of the Fluorocort (ointment) remedy are local reactions in the form of hypertrichosis and eczema. Secondary lesions may occur (attachment of a fungal or bacterial infection).

The effect of taking oral glucocorticosteroids with the external use of the drug "Fluorocort" is enhanced.

Do not apply the described product to large areas of the skin. This is associated with a high risk of developing systemic adverse reactions characteristic of glucocorticosteroids.

Experts do not recommend the use of the hormonal drug "Fluorocort" for the treatment of children over an extended period (regardless of age).

The medicine is not intended for use in ophthalmic diseases; in addition, the drug should not be applied to the skin of the face.

In order to prevent the development of local infectious diseases, it is allowed to use Fluorocort ointment in conjunction with antimicrobial agents.

Such analogues as Afloderm, Powercourt, Cloveit and others are referred to the analogs of the medication.

When using hormone-containing ointments, experts recommend discontinuing use gradually, reducing the dosage and frequency of application.
