'Nalgesin': instruction warns

Unfortunately, the practice of taking medications without the recommendation of a doctor is becoming more common in our country. Constantly in time trouble people, exhausted by stress and chronic fatigue, prefer not to go to the doctor, and at the slightest ailment run into a pharmacy, buy the first medicine that comes across and continue to work. Especially, statistics notes, this applies to painkillers. Among the most purchased analgesics, one of the first places is "Nalgesin". Reviews of its magical properties are passed on by word of mouth, therefore, a drug whose price is affordable is bought more often without consulting a doctor.

Is Nalgesin So Good? The instruction for this tool tells in detail about its positive properties, possible side effects, contraindications.

This drug belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Its active ingredient is naproxen sodium, it quickly and easily binds to plasma proteins, after an hour it reaches its maximum effect, is almost completely eliminated from the body. "Nalgesin", the instruction carefully paints this, is indicated in the following cases:

  • muscle pain of various or unknown origin;
  • with pain in the joints, bones, spine;
  • with menstrual pain ;
  • with migraines and headaches;
  • with toothaches;
  • for pain of unknown origin;
  • in case of cancer;
  • in the post-traumatic or postoperative period ;
  • with colds;
  • with laryngitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis.

The medicine simultaneously achieves three goals: reduces pain, lowers temperature, relieves inflammation.

However, like any medicine, the drug has contraindications that can cause great harm to a certain group of people. "Nalgesin", the instruction warns, is contraindicated:

  • people with lesions of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • suffering from "aspirin" asthma;
  • renal and hepatic insufficiency ;
  • patients with impaired hematopoiesis;
  • pregnant or desiring to become pregnant women;
  • nursing mothers;
  • with polyposis of the nose ;
  • children under 16 years old.

The apparent harmlessness of the drug is deceptive. "Nalgesin", the instruction warns, if used improperly or excessively, can cause complications:

  • violation of the stool, vomiting, nausea;
  • dizziness, headache, tinnitus;
  • weakness, drowsiness, lethargy reaction;
  • allergic manifestations: edema, itching, urticaria;
  • pneumonia, anemia;
  • renal or liver failure;
  • hearing impairment.

Typically, such symptoms occur with an overdose of the drug. However, sometimes even the doses recommended by the instruction of the drug can cause its intolerance.

Does this mean that you should not use the drug "Nalgesin" for treatment? The instruction states that with the right dosage in each case, the drug does not cause side effects and only benefits. However, the question of its use should be decided only by the doctor.

How is Nalgesin used? The instruction, emphasizing the necessity of prescribing the drug by a doctor, indicates that the tablets are taken regardless of the meal. Typically, the dose should not exceed 1.75 g in several doses. If for some reason an increase in dose is required, then the drug is prescribed in two forms: tablets and rectal suppositories. The course of treatment is not recommended to continue for more than 14 days. For the prolonged action of the medicine, the doctor may prescribe Nalgesin Forte. When using the drug, it should be remembered that not only the active substance naproxen sodium can cause an incorrect reaction of the body to it. It is extremely rare, but it still happens that allergic reactions or other side effects cause auxiliary components of the drug. In Nalgesin tablets, these are: microcrystalline cellulose, talc, magnesium stearate, povidone and the titanium dioxide, macrogol and dyes that make up the shell.

If side effects have appeared or some component is contraindicated for the patient, the doctor may prescribe a drug in the form of rectal suppositories.
