What is the difference between acute and chronic diseases?
Determining the acute condition, experts talk about the intensity, limitation of specific symptoms, short duration. This manifestation is completed either by recovery or a fatal outcome. Chronic diseases are characterized by a progressive course. In other words, over time, the condition worsens, symptom relief does not occur, the disease does not cure. Moreover, some manifestations are exacerbated, for example, pain, discomfort, disability or death may appear. This concept itself denotes duration in time as a factor in the disease.
Typical acute conditions include flu, the common cold, pneumonia, and infection in the middle ear or bladder. As a rule, bacterial and individual viral infections (measles or chickenpox) are of the same nature. However, some viral diseases (herpes, for example) are classified as chronic diseases. Fungal infections can occur in various forms. Various injuries, as well as conditions in which emergency care is necessary, are acute. However, along with this, they can have chronic consequences, complications, as a result of which the patient loses his ability to work. This can happen in the absence of timely assistance or improperly selected therapy.
Arthritis, diabetes, eczema, autoimmune diseases, allergies, asthma, endocrine disorders, as well as cancer and cardiac pathologies are most chronic diseases.
As a rule, such conditions have an acute stage. It can occur at the beginning of the development of pathology or for a certain period at another time. Often, an exacerbation is mistaken for acute pathology.
Treatment of chronic diseases, in particular, homeopathic remedies, begins with a clarification of the condition. It is recommended that you start with an initial study of the ailment. The presence of parallel ailments (skin infections or colds) is noted. However, until the symptoms become recurring or prolonged, they will not be given much importance in the final analysis. The appointment of a constitutional drug suggests that the chronic disease will be eliminated, and the patient will increase resistance to acute ailments.
In some cases, after the start of the use of a homeopathic preparation in the process of constitutional therapy, an acute pathology develops. If the disease that arises threatens the patientβs life, immediate measures are taken to provide emergency care, both homeopathic and conventional (classical).
The use of homeopathic treatment can help in the presence of life-threatening pathologies in case of clear symptoms, and also provided that the results of the prescribed therapy are immediately visible or detected soon after the start of use.
Given specific limited manifestations against a background of chronic diseases (for example, sore throat, minor colds), a more frequent application (once every four or eight hours) of a constitutional drug is allowed, and in some cases a very effective measure. As practice shows, in many cases the exacerbation is eliminated within a short period. This, in turn, indicates a correctly selected tool.
In some cases, exacerbation of a chronic disease, for example, an asthmatic attack, may not respond to the constitutional drug used. However, in this case, the effect can be observed with the use of a drug more suitable for eliminating acute specific manifestations.
