What are the pelvic organs. Pathologies of these organs

Pelvic organs are the rectum, bladder, vagina, and also the uterus with fallopian tubes and ovaries. The above structures together with the surrounding pelvic bones, vascular structures, lymph nodes and soft tissues - this is the anatomical region of the body that interests us.

Diseases of the pelvic organs, otherwise called VZOT, occur when the aforementioned female reproductive organs undergo an inflammatory process. The cause may be an infection. In other cases, PIDs are associated with infectious pathologies from which the pelvic organs suffer. These are serious female sexually transmitted complications.

In some cases, with such inflammation, the pelvic organs undergo very serious damage. Such pathologies can be irreversible and often lead to infertility.

Unfortunately, the pelvic organs often suffer from inflammatory diseases. For example, in the United States more than one million women are exposed to PID. Inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs lead to the phenomenon of ectopic pregnancy. Most often, girls fall ill during adolescence.

Pelvic organs suffer from diseases for the following reasons. If we take the cervix into consideration, then normally it prevents further penetration of bacteria that have fallen into the vagina. When afflicted with sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, the cervix, barrier functions are lost. Accordingly, it loses its ability to protect internal organs from the penetration of microorganisms.

Untreated chlamydia and gonorrhea account for up to 90% of VZOT accompanying the penetration of pathogenic bacteria into the upper genital tract. In other cases, the pelvic organs undergo inflammatory processes due to infection during abortion, childbirth. The cause of the pathology may be the introduction of infection during surgical and / or research procedures in the corresponding pelvic area.

Pelvic organs, undergoing VZOT, suffer from the following symptoms:

  • discomfort in the lower abdomen, dull pain;

  • monthly cycle disorder. They are irregular, accompanied by pain;

  • urination is also painful;

  • pain that is not associated with the monthly cycle, cramping or spastic in nature;

  • fever with chills;

  • pain during sex.

Certain factors are known that expose the pelvic organs to the risk of inflammatory processes. The risk group includes those suffering from sexually transmitted diseases, as well as their carriers. Women who have previously undergone PID can undergo repeated episodes of inflammation (relapse). In adolescent girls who lead an active sex life, the pelvic organs suffer from diseases more often than in older people.

How are pelvic organs treated in case of inflammation? At the initial stage, antibiotic treatment is prescribed, which are taken orally. With the ineffectiveness of such a technique, as well as in severe cases of the course of the disease, the patient is hospitalized. In this case, antibiotics are administered by injection, including intravenous injection.

If VZOT is accompanied by an abscess, surgical intervention is additionally required. In this case, abscesses are subject to opening, and in some cases, the organ in which they were formed is removed.

As a prevention of PID, it is recommended to refrain from sexual intercourse with several partners. You should also, at the slightest sign of inflammation, seek medical help, regularly undergo gynecological examinations, and undergo diagnostic procedures if necessary. In case of timely diagnosis, it is possible to conduct an effective cure of pathology.
