Horatio Kane reported the results of the DNA that he requested in connection with a mysterious crime. A few hours earlier, a man had been thrown out of the window of a skyscraper, and the offender had fled from the police in a speedboat. According to DNA analysis, it turns out that he is the son of Kane himself. After examining the body of the victim, it turns out that he was first killed by a shot in the chest and only then thrown out the window. Horatio interviews the daughter of the deceased, and Jack Berkeley inspects the room. Soon he finds the imprint of sneakers, a revolving bullet and a communicator. The shoe print leads the detectives to a certain Dylan, who denies any involvement in the murder. At this time, the wife of prison guard Michael Newberry is being abducted. When Horatio Kane arrives at the place, a bell rings on his cell phone. This was contacted by the kidnapper, who immediately requested one hundred and twenty thousand dollars. As it turned out later, it was this amount that the kidnapper owed to his former cellmate, with whom he was serving a prison term. And he decided on the abduction in order to pay off the creditor and save his life. It was not possible to sort out this complicated situation right away, it was necessary to make a request to the prison to send confirmation of the joint imprisonment of two prisoners, the history of their relationship, the financial side of the whole thing and the characteristics on both. Although the kidnapping was set aside in a separate proceeding, and all other documents were formal, nevertheless, the investigators carried out all the required actions that were associated with this criminal story.
