How many single children there are waiting for a magical day in which their parents will come for them! Very often, these guys stop dreaming over time, because no one came. The film "August Rush" tells exactly about such an amazing boy. Day after day, he waits, without losing hope, and listens to the music that surrounds him everywhere.
The film "August Rush"
The creator of the film is an Irish director, screenwriter, cameraman and film editor Kirsten Sheridan. This amazing story, striking with a certain subtlety of the plot, it very carefully and carefully reveals the story of a boy genius. Twelve-year-old Evan Taylor, dreaming of having a family, escapes from an orphanage to multi-million dollar New York. There he hopes for an early meeting with his family.

Evan has a rare gift: he hears music everywhere and, being untrained in musical notation, is able to play it by ear. Getting in a huge city under the wing of a certain Sorcerer, Evan begins to call himself August Rush. The actors taking part in the film create an inimitable atmosphere. Each of them even complements the picture in an episodic role, introducing its own bright touch, very harmoniously blending into the overall storyline. Of course, the film is a kind of fairy tale for adults. Magical confluence of life circumstances of the main characters in reality is extremely rare. But everyone wants to believe that a miracle will find its place in the modern, sometimes very cruel world.
Music
Another full-fledged hero of the picture is music. It is rich, dramatic, sometimes sentimental, and it seems that you can see firsthand its splendor, flight and play. It is the music that stands at the center of this film, it gathers together the once crushed family of fate. Music, along with the actors, draws the audience a soulful palette of the main characters. Each melody makes the heart tremble, conveying the amazing mood of the inner soul strings of the little creator. How important it is to listen, and even more important to hear! This invisible appeal extends through the entire film. Therefore, Augustus hears and creates it, burning with the desire to bring his world to as many people as possible. But he is driven not by a thirst for glory, but by hope, very fragile, but at the same time unshakable that his native person will hear him and find a way to him. The leading actors of the film “August Rush” - Jonathan Rhys-Myers and Keri Russell - are directly related to music, so their feeling and perception looks on the screen very naturally and believably.
The composer was the American Mark Manchina, who devoted eighteen months to creating the soundtrack for the film. He is quite famous in Hollywood and has collaborated with the Disney film company more than once. On his account, the arrangement of songs for the animated films “Brother Bear”, “The Lion King”, “Tarzan”. Soundtracks for the feature films “Speed”, “Bad Guys”, “Speed-2”, “Air Prison” are also his creations. Raise it up was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, and in 2009 it was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Soundtrack.
Freddy highmore
One of the main roles of the film "August Rush", the actors of which were selected very well, went to Freddy Highmore. The talented and young Freddie, known for his roles in the films “Fairyland”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Two Brothers”, very truthfully and touchingly played the role assigned to him. From the first minutes, the genius boy plunges into his world, so unlike the others, the viewer begins to hear music with him, empathize with him and internally support. Hero Freddy is distinguished by amazing kindness and naivety, like many brilliant people. Augustus is somewhat enclosed and secluded in a huge musical universe. He recognizes the melody in the sound of rain on glass, in the rhythmic jumps of children playing on the street, even in the rustle of leaves. “The music around us, all that is needed is to listen,” such a world perception, emphasized by unsurpassed musical accompaniment, cannot leave the spectator indifferent. The film seems to represent the young hero as a living embodiment of music, which is subject to all the instruments and sounds known to the world.

Freddie Highmore won the Saturn Award in 2008 for the film August Rush. Reviews about this picture were mixed. Despite increased audience sympathy and approval, some critics found Kirsten Sheridan's work too sentimental.
Jonathan Rhys Myers
Irish charismatic actor Jonathan Rhys-Myers played the role of Augustus' father, Louis Connelly. Being by nature a very musical person, he himself performed some of the songs written for the film. Myers' hero opens up gradually, his depressing mood, caused by life failures, inner longing, gradually dissipates. The closer Louis is to his son and lover, the brighter and more cheerful his condition becomes, which is conveyed by a wonderful acting.
Forced separation, an abandoned musical group - all the tragedy of the situation that has begun begins to dissipate. Sensitive, but at the same time temperamental, decisive and romantic, Louis, who spoke with the moon as a child, who so desperately could not forget his beloved one who struck his heart after the only night spent with her, returns to life, obviously feeling the same as August.
Keri Russell
The beautiful cellist played by Keri Russell is August Rush's mom. Laila, this is the name of her heroine, was in a difficult life situation. Suppressed by a powerful father, after another quarrel, being pregnant, she falls under a car. Despite the fact that the child survives, she is told the opposite.
With such a mental wound, Laila goes through life for eleven years, without ceasing to think about her baby. Upon learning that her boy is alive, she rushes in search of him. Layla convinces others that he hears her son, and, despite the protests of her relatives, she manages to reach her goal.
Robin Williams
Robin Williams plays a supporting role, but does it, as always, inimitably, as befits one of the most talented actors. His hero Sorcerer takes care of some children who work part-time by playing music in the bustling streets of the metropolis. Hero Robin can not be called categorically negative, it combines a lot. The bitterness of a failed life, perhaps the internal tears that happened to him in the past, left a certain imprint. The sorcerer has lost faith in people, hope for the best, he does not trust almost anyone. But the children evoke in him the best feelings and emotions that only remained in him. He protects them in his own way, empathizes with them, and even loves them.

The sorcerer helps the little genius to open up, certainly, to some extent, pursuing his own interests. It is he who gives the boy the name August Rush. Actors playing children noted a wonderful connection with Robin Williams and could behave absolutely naturally. Williams himself was helped by his inherent sense of humor and rich experience working with children.
The film “August Rush” is unusual and unique. Actors and roles spelled out very subtly, stunning musical background, exciting and compelling to empathize with the plot - all this creates a single story, very bright, which leaves a pleasant aftertaste and, of course, sets in a positive mood.
