Forbidden horror films: we do not recommend the faint of heart!

The rampant cruelty and flickering of bloody scenes on the screen in both documentary and news chronicles, and in feature films often lead to attempts to imitate and badly affect the fragile psyche or impressionable people. That is why almost every country has lists that include forbidden horror films, these pictures can not be rented or were removed from the show after some time.

Forbidden Horror Films

For example, you can take neighboring Belarus. In this state, apparently, they seriously assessed the danger posed by the spectacles offered by some directors. The black list, among others, included horror films that were banned from showing, there are many of them. This includes the seemingly innocent horror movie “The Evil Dead” by Sam Raimi. This "black comedy" of the 80s was created by the future director of the Spider-Man franchise at the time of his youth. Surprisingly, then, from almost nothing, a classic was born. And although the blood and parts of the body today look primitive and too fake (30 years ago special effects left much to be desired), the film is all the same, two of its sequels and a modern (2013 year) remake are watched and reviewed. According to many knowledgeable people, there is no particular reason to prohibit him, which cannot be said about explicit paintings, which also appear on the Belarusian list as forbidden horror films. This includes Rob Zombie's “House of 1000 Corpses” or “2001 Maniac” with the participation of Robert Englund (the same Freddy Krueger in “A Nightmare on Elm Street”). Well, the “Cannibal Hell”, shot by Italian Ruggiero Deodato, a picture of an allegedly found pseudo-documentary film about an expedition to the cannibal tribe in the Amazon, is prohibited in many countries of the world.

Cruelty - for the barrier!

horror films banned from showing

The veto - also in a number of states - has been imposed on a number of time-tested cinema works classified as forbidden horror films. Although there is nothing supernaturally cruel there. This, for example, the famous film adaptation of the novel "The Exorcist", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (filmed in 1974, it has many sequels "based on"). Or “The Last House on the Left,” filmed by the “inventor” of the same Kruger and director of The Scream by Wes Craven in 1972. In this horror movie, a couple of young girlfriends looking for adventure find themselves in the clutches of a gang of sadists. This picture could not be shown in the UK from 1984 to 2002, it was banned in New Zealand, Norway, Australia, Iceland, Singapore. Again in Singapore, New Zealand, as well as Spain, Malaysia and some other countries, it is not allowed to show the newer Serbian film. In it, cruelty and violent naturalism really rolls over, and a mixture of sadism, pedophilia, necrophilia can negatively affect even not too faint of heart.

Not for children's eyes

forbidden horror films in the world
Not so long ago, the English newspaper Independent published its version of the twenty, which included banned horror films. There were some of the above listed works, as well as, for example, the thriller “I Spit on Your Graves” in 2011. This is a free remake of the earlier Woman’s Day. The young novelist, seeking inspiration, seeks solitude, but instead runs into very big trouble. Rape, bullying and an attempt to kill a victim by local villains are far from the scenes that can be seen in the family circle. And the methods of punishment that Jennifer did not want to die for her tormentors were also not for children's eyes. This list also includes the 1992 film Mikey, which tells about a sadistic child, and the semi-documentary work Faces of Death, filmed in 1979. Truly nauseating work, quite worthy to be classified as "Forbidden horror films in the world."
