pharmachologic effect
The main component of this drug is progesterone. By blocking estrogen receptors, it improves the absorption of fluid from soft tissues. This allows you to reduce the compression of the milk ducts and block prolactin receptors, thereby reducing lactopoiesis.
Gel "Progestogel", the instructions for use of which indicate its transdermal method of application, does not have adverse effects on the human body. The experiments showed that an hour after the use of this drug, the level of hormones in the blood remained the same.

Progesterone and other components of the drug are 50% excreted from the human body by the kidneys and 10% with bile.
Dosage
One application of the gel in 2.5 g with a dispenser should be applied to the skin of the mammary glands and left for a while (until the drug is completely absorbed). This procedure is recommended to be performed twice a day during the second phase of menstruation (16-25 days). The course of treatment with this drug is carried out over three cycles of regulation. Contraindications
This pharmaceutical agent should not be applied in the presence of nodular forms of cystic-fibrous mastopathy, genital and breast cancer, tumors of unknown etiology, in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. It is not recommended to use the drug with special sensitivity to its components, which are in its composition.
With renal and hepatic insufficiency, epilepsy, bronchial asthma, depression, migraine, ectopic pregnancy, hyperlipoproteinemia, a tendency to thrombosis, acute phlebitis, vaginal bleeding, arterial hypertension, porphyria and diabetes mellitus, this pharmaceutical agent must be used with extreme caution.
Special instructions when using the drug "Progestogel"
Instructions for its use indicate that after applying the gel, sun exposure should be avoided. The drug should not be rubbed into the skin, and it is not recommended to massage the mammary glands .
The pharmaceutical agent can be used for mastodynia that has arisen in connection with the use of oral contraceptives, during the puberty and during menopause.
