There is also uneven coloring of the skin of the neck, axillary hollows, lateral surfaces of the abdomen. Atopic dermatitis may occur. Rumbling in the intestines, bloating, unstable stool, and enlarged liver are characteristic .
Giardiasis treatment regimen
It is not advisable to treat chronic giardiasis with antiparasitic drugs - you can suffer from toxico-allergic complications and exacerbate symptoms. Treatment is carried out in three stages.
At the first stage, treatment is 1-2 weeks and includes a diet that creates adverse conditions for the reproduction of the parasite. The administration of choleretic drugs, enterosorbents is prescribed, enzyme therapy and antihistamines are prescribed.
At the second stage, drugs are taken that kill the protozoa: Furazolidone, Trichopolum, Tiberal. Treatment with antihistamines should be continued.
At the third stage, conditions are created under which the reproduction of bacteria is impossible.
