short biography
One of the most famous performers of the second half of the twentieth century was born on December 25, 1954 in the family of a laundress and worker in the city of Aberdeen. She lived far from a respectable area, but her parents did everything so that their only child could take piano lessons. The girl studied at a special music school, sang in the choir, and teachers noted her musical talent.
The first money Lennox Annie earned in a fish processing factory after graduation. Then she applied to the Royal Royal London Academy of Music and won a grant for prestigious studies. She was engaged in the study of classical music, improving the piano. She mastered flute skills. Her student body was difficult, I had to earn extra money as a waitress, a barmaid at a car wash, singing in restaurants. She was forced to leave the academy a few days before graduation, without having received a diploma.
For three years she worked as a saleswoman, a cleaner, continuing to engage in vocals on her own. She sang in youth groups, trying to find herself. In the Rippins restaurant, where she worked as a waitress, Annie met with Dave Stewart, a lover and future creative partner. So, at the age of 22, the fate of the girl changed - they organized the group The Tourists, her full-fledged musical career began.
Annie's parents died of cancer, her personal life was not easy. Lennox got married three times:
- In 1984-1985 - marriage to the German Hare Krishna Radha Raman.
- In 1988-2000 - with Uri Fruchtman (producer from Israel). Annie survived the loss of the firstborn, Daniel, who was born dead, and in the early 90s, daughters appeared in the marriage: Lola and Tali.

Creative way
With The Tourists, the singer began a creative procession uphill. For 4 years, she recorded several records that hit the British charts, but this did not bring financial success. The love relations of Lennox and Stuart exhausted themselves in 1979, but this served as an impetus in the development of their partnerships - the Eurythmics project was created, which received worldwide fame. The duo conquered the world with its image and hits.
Thanks to her βmen's suitβ style and ultra-short haircut, Annie became the bearer of the image of feminism. In the 80s, her image was very provocative, and Yuritmiks became a symbol of modern times, firmly located on top of the musical Olympus. With the release of the second album, Sweet dreams, the group received recognition not only among fans, but also critics.
1988 was marked by the release of the first Lennox solo project. And in the early 90s, Jurmix ceases to exist.
An album of solo performance Diva, released in 1992, brought dizzying fame to Annie Lennox, whose songs soared for a long time to the highest stages of the charts.
1999 was marked by the reunion of Juritmix and the release of the Peace album, aimed at supporting Greenpeace. The songs are held at the top of various charts, and in 2003 the album Bare appeared. In addition, Annie is actively working in the cinema and writes soundtracks for films. Over the path to The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, she is awarded the Academy Award.
