"Wedding Vase" is one of the most controversial films found on the Internet. The popularity of the film was by no means due to positive reviews. What is the sharpness of the plot, and why did not critics appreciate the idea?
Story line
The action of the film takes place in a small house, located far from the familiar world. The main character is a lone farmer who is engaged in housekeeping and everyday life. The desire for a different lifestyle does not bother his heart, because he is one of the few people who sincerely enjoy solitude and nature. However, soon the man is changing. He runs around his possessions completely naked, watches chickens, and later completely falls in love with a pig. After strange, unambiguous circumstances, the animal survives childbirth: a brood of piglets is born.
The only character (played by Dominic Garni, who has also become a screenwriter in combination), for unknown reasons, cannot communicate with other people. Driven into the abyss of loneliness, he devotes most of his time to piglets. Jealousy for their mother overshadows the mind, because the farmer gets rid of piglets. Showing the body of a pig, he kills her, and then tragically buries himself with the "family" underground.
Author's idea: meaning and problem with the presentation
Dominic Garni did not use a single dialogue in the movie, preferring to convey the horror of the whole situation with a smooth narration. Loneliness is the main theme of this film. Probably, the author sought to demonstrate an acute problem: how difficult it is to live away from other people, and how much this changes a person.
The farmer does not talk to people. He sees no one. The viewer does not notice any traces of relatives in the house, nor books. Perhaps events occur after the end of the world, where only one man survived. His only consolation is animals and the field. However, being in absurd conditions, it is difficult to resist human instincts and the simple desire to love.
Despite the popular theme, the movie "Wedding Vase" was received negatively by critics. Probably the main problem was the lack of full disclosure of the character’s grief, a demonstration of doom and a hopeless situation. So, the true meaning of the film was closed to understanding for many viewers who were unable to get to the credits, and therefore leaves a dual impression.
