Criticism Reviews Leningrad 46

It is always interesting what guides the person who works on the film, what emotions he experiences and what he feels after that.

Director Igor Kopylov in the series "Leningrad 46" also performs the functions of a screenwriter and producer.

He himself admits that at first glance the picture is similar to another popular domestic television series about the post-war years - the film "Liquidation". It is also shot in black and white, the fight against banditry comes to the fore. All this can remind one more cult Soviet film called "The meeting place cannot be changed."

From each other, the tapes differ mainly only in the scene. This is Odessa in "Liquidation", Moscow in the film "The meeting place cannot be changed" and Leningrad in the series to which this article is devoted. The film stands out for its atmosphere - canals, drawbridges, rivers ...

Project work

Leningrad 46

In the reviews of the audience about the series "Leningrad 46" the meticulous work of the whole team is often emphasized. Initially, the film had several names. This is Nevsky and War. Kopylov himself proposed the option "City of Lenin after the Victory." Ultimately, they settled on the version of "Leningrad 46", which refers the audience to the famous Soviet painting "Tehran 43".

The series itself was filmed over a year and a half. Often directly in kind. For this, the streets of the Northern capital were repeatedly blocked. They used old cars and rare trams. The crowd was formed by actors in costumes of the post-war era.

The characters of the series often found themselves in well-recognized Leningrad places: on Palace Square, on the Moika Embankment, on Liteiny Prospekt. When the scenes were shot indoors, radio programs of that period were broadcasted for the entourage, and Soviet newspapers of the 40s constantly met in the atmosphere.

The series was shot not in the pavilions, but in the old St. Petersburg apartments, in which there was no major overhaul.

Special pride of the creators of the series, critics noted in the reviews of “Leningrad 46”, - an old German car DKW, restored and restored specifically for this project.

Sergey Garmash

Sergey Garmash Leningrad 46

Positive reviews about the actors of “Leningrad 46” in many ways provided the film with such high ratings and popularity. The main star of the series is People's Artist of Russia Sergey Garmash. His image of Igor Afanasevich Danilov, created in this project, has become the most vivid and memorable. After all, Garmash managed to play a very controversial personality. On the one hand, this is an honest and open person who fought for the freedom of his homeland. On the other hand, he is very embittered by those around him, because of this he begins uncontrolled revenge, he even finds himself in criminal structures.

Garmash himself hails from Kherson. As a child, he was a difficult teenager, several times he was expelled from school. He was going to go to a naval school, but unexpectedly for many he ended up in the theater. Later he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School. He made his film debut in 1984 in Alexei Simonov’s military drama "Squad".

The first awards came to him only in the 2000s. For the role of Semyon Semenovich Bespalchikov in Sergei Solovyov’s drama "Tender Age", he was awarded the "Nick" and "Golden Aries" in the nomination "Best Supporting Actor".

In 2004, he won the Golden Eagle Award for Best Actor in the military drama Dmitry Meskhiev's Own. In the same year he received “Nick” for best supporting actor in the drama Valery Todorovsky's “My Step-Brother Frankenstein”.

This was followed by the White Elephant film award for best supporting role in the comedy Pavel Lungin Poor Relatives, Golden Eagle and Nick for best male acting in the psychological drama Nikita Mikhalkov's 12, Golden Eagle for best supporting role in Valery Todorovsky’s dramatic musical Styles, Nick for the best male role in Oleg Pogodin’s drama Home.

Among his recent works, it is necessary to highlight the image of Semyon Remezov, created in the film “Tobol” and the role of Nikolai Trotsky from the biographical drama series “Trotsky”.

Eugene Miller

Another important role is played by the domestic theater and cinema artist Eugene Miller. He's been in the cinema since the mid-2000s. In the film "Leningrad 46" he gets the image of police captain Yuri Rebrov, who eventually becomes a major, and by the end of the series, he becomes the head of the department for combating banditry.

Among the notable roles in the cinema, it is worth noting the shooting in the drama television series "Kuprin", the biographical serial film "Lyudmila Gurchenko". Interestingly, his candidacy was twice approved for the main role in the comedy sitcom "Voronin". But the first time the producers rejected him because he did not have the main roles in his career, and the second time Oleg Tabakov, in whose theater he worked, did not allow him to participate in the project.

Anna Tabanina

Actress Anna Tabanina plays in the series the ex-wife of Igor Danilov, whose name is Lyudmila Alexandrovna.

In the movie, she mainly takes part in television series. Viewers can remember her from the multi-part paintings “Streets of Broken Lights”, “NLS Agency”, “Deadly Force”, “Poor Nastya”, “Dear Masha Berezina”, “Guest Tours”, “Expropriator”.

In feature films, she appeared on supporting roles in the drama thriller of Armen Nazikyan "Rector", the comedy Karen Hovhannisyan "Five Brides", the romantic comedy Klim Shipenko "Loves - Doesn't Love."

Alexey Gorbunov

Alexey Gorbunov

According to reviews and comments about "Leningrad 46", many remember the character of Vitya, nicknamed the Musician, who is the actual leader of the gang into which fate brings Danilov. His role is played by Alexei Gorbunov.

Gorbunov is a national artist of Ukraine, after Garmash the most recognizable actor in the series. Not to his account dozens of movie roles. For his role in the psychological drama "12" by Nikita Mikhalkov, he received the Golden Eagle award.

Critic reviews

Critics' reviews of the series "Leningrad 46" were completely opposite.

Some noted that this is a deep detective drama, which has a lot of subtexts and secret meaning. The creators are credited with the fact that they skillfully combine melodramatism with action and the unpopular character of heroes on Russian television, when the viewer himself has to decide for many episodes who is good and who is bad.

Critics' reviews of the film "Leningrad 46" also emphasize that the series is and what to blame. Dialogues are often poorly spelled out, a large number of blunders and obvious historical lies.

Spectator Impression

And in the reviews of the audience about “Leningrad 46” it was often noted that the first few episodes that were successfully made, which made it possible to count on a fascinating spectacle, did not meet their expectations. The plot soon lost its integrity, breaking up into several loosely connected stories. There was a feeling that the script was written by several authors who often did not even communicate with each other.

Also, many were outraged by the romanticization of the image of yesterday's front-line soldier performed by Garmash, who became a criminal. In addition, it was noted that in the series "Leningrad 46", reviews of which you will find in this article, Garmash looks very tense in the image of a hero-lover.

But the audience frankly liked the strict adherence to the traditions of Soviet pseudo-realism in cinema. All this gave the series realism, which is lacking in many domestic films.

In the reviews of Leningrad 46, viewers emphasize that among the main advantages of this project is a good acting game, a large number of action-packed and psychological moments, and a fascinating plot. They also took credit for the fact that the filmmakers moved away from the "bandit-cop showdowns" for a while, trying to talk about human destinies; fears, sufferings and experiences of people.
