In the center of the plot of the comedy is an ordinary married couple who once was madly in love with each other, and now eke out a boring existence, meeting only at dinner and in the morning in the bathroom for brushing their teeth. That is how we are presented in the first ten minutes by characters played by famous Hollywood actors. “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” dramatically changes its plot when Jane and John leave for work. The viewer understands that this marriage is not so simple.
It turns out that boring life in the private sector is just a cover. In fact, John and Jane are two elite mercenaries who work for competing agencies. And soon they are sent to eliminate the same goal. The world of the main characters collapses at one moment when they realize that they can soon lose not only their favorite work, but also each other. They have to decide whether they are so important to each other and whether there was at least something real and truthful in their false relations.

Initially, the director wanted to approve the role of Mrs. Smith Nicole Kidman. When Brad Pitt found out that Nicole was leaving the project, he decided to refuse. But the famous Hollywood actor was stopped by the news that Angelina Jolie could become his partner on the set.
The cast of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, both of them, were known for their attractiveness and inclination to break hearts. Many filmmakers noticed that Pitt and Jolie disliked each other from the start. Director Doug Laimon compared them to “Two Scorpions” in a confined space. During this period, the most difficult moments in the film were filmed: the fight of a married couple in their own home.
