Actors in the series Heroes: Renaissance continue to tell a fascinating story about people with supernatural abilities, which began in the original series by Tim Kring. In this NBC channel project, he is an executive producer. The thirteen-episode mini-series was launched in September 2015 and caused mixed reactions from the audience, who were eagerly awaiting the continuation of previous seasons.
Prehistory
Declaring their intention to release the sequel to the successful Heroes series, the channel’s leadership emphasized that the storyline would be completely autonomous, although no more detailed information about the characters has been received. It is known that a few days after the statement, Robert Napper, who played the role of the head of the Carnival, Samuel Sullivan, voiced a desire to participate in a new project. He wanted to embody the same character, however, the answer became known only after the premiere. In the new series it is not.
In the summer, a few months before the premiere, information appeared that viewers would still see some familiar characters in the episodes of “Heroes: Revival”. The actors who played Noah Bennett (aka Man with horn-rimmed glasses), Matt Parkman, Mike Sanders and other characters in the original series will reappear on the screen. Unfortunately, it was decided to do without Siler.
How wonderful is the “brave new world”
After Claire Bennett jumped from the top of the attraction and revealed to humanity the existence of people with supernormal abilities, five years passed. During this time, society has changed significantly: many stopped hiding and began to upload videos demonstrating their capabilities on the Internet. There is a split between those who believe that new abilities are the next round of evolution and those who are frankly afraid of such a force. The government of many countries adopted laws on the mandatory registration of "heroes". A clash of two fronts is brewing.
Plot and characters
Against this background, the main events of the series “Heroes: Revival” unfold. Actors portray characters with familiar or completely new abilities: time jumps, reading thoughts, controlling fire. Central figures appear embodying good and evil. As before, the negative character represents the head of a multi-million dollar corporation planning grandiose changes and dominance. Her head Erica (Ria Kilstedt) recruits a girl with a unique gift of generating darkness, they are opposed by the union of several powerful heroes with various abilities.
Numerous twists, intrigues and multi-way combinations, as one would expect, make up the lion's share of the plot of the series “Heroes: Revival”. Actors familiar to the viewer from previous seasons appear in traditional roles: restless explorer Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurti), master of electronics Mike Sanders (Noah Gray-Cabi), noble Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), conspirator Angela Petrelli (Christine Rose). Also appearing are the bloody “avengers” Luke and Joanna (Zachary Levy and Judith Shekoni), the lord of time and space Tommy (Robbie Kay), as well as many others. In the center of the story is Noah Bennett (Jack Coleman), who lost his daughter Claire, but gained twin grandchildren.
Conclusion
Despite all the efforts of the creators, the audience, without much warmth, accepted the series “Heroes: Revival”. Actors and roles to some of them seem insufficiently strong, the motivation of the characters is superficial, and the plot is unfinished. Due to unsatisfactory ratings, the continuation will not be removed. So the episodes of “Heroes: Revival” (whose actors are really inferior in comparison with the original series) will be the last episodes of the famous saga.
