Biography
One day in the November morning of the distant 1973, the brothers Angus and Malcolm Young woke up with the firm intention to put together their own gang. The result was a project called AC / DC (“AC / DC”), which later became famous throughout the world, but then guys with Scottish roots only dreamed about it.
These Australians stood on a par with geniuses such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motörhead and Queen. After all, all these groups have contributed to the development of hard rock, becoming an example to follow the next generation. The music of each of these teams is universal - it simply cannot be shoved into a narrow framework called “fashion”, it has been created for all time and will always be relevant.
According to the Young brothers, the genre of their work can be described as rock and roll, since the foundation is based on the rhythm and blues style, only the sound of electric guitars was intentionally distorted. The composition underwent multiple metamorphoses before the debut album High Voltage was presented in the distant 75th world. However, constancy was short-lived, and two years later, Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans as bassist.
A little more time passed and on February 19 of the 80th, a tragic event happened - the frontman AC / DC (“AC / DC”) Bon Scott died, choking on his own vomit, as he was dead drunk. However, the gang did not split, and Brian Johnson successfully replaced the deceased vocalist. With his arrival, the group recorded the highest grossing vinyl called Back in Black, with sales of over 62 million copies.
In total, the Australian AC / DC team has sold more than two hundred million discs and has become one of the most successful in rock history. The most famous hits are You Shook Me All Night Long, Hells Bells and Highway To Hell.
AC / DC today
The composition changed many times, and some participants left it for health reasons. The group is still alive and active. In March 2018, it became known from a reliable source that Angus Young and Axl Rose were seen working on a new album, with Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd most likely taking a direct part in this. The return of old comrades is evidenced by a joint photo taken against the background of the Vancouver recording studio The Warehouse Studioruen, which has implemented several recent albums.
