Perhaps everyone knows in which country the Statue of Liberty is almost the main symbol. She has long been the personification of not only New York, but also the United States of America. Even the island on which it was built in 1886 is now called not Bedlow, but the island of Freedom.
Description
Let's try to draw this world-famous symbol, although this is not easy to do. The brass statue is made in the shape of a woman trampling the chains dropped by her foot. On her cape is a tunic, and on her head is a crown displaying seven rays. Each of them denotes 7 seas and 7 continents. In one hand, a woman holds a stone sheet (tablet) with a date stamped - July 4, 1776. This is the day the United States Declaration of Independence was adopted. She holds a torch in her other hand.
How to draw a Statue of Liberty in pencil in stages?
Let's start with the simplest part - the pedestal. He has a fairly simple geometric shape. Draw without pressing so that the pencil leaves a pale gray mark.
Details will be added in the next steps. And most of the original circuit has been erased.
Further, to draw the Statue of Liberty, it is necessary to sketch a truncated oval for the body, and above it a small circle for the head. Connect these shapes with the lines that form the neck. Apply face markings on the head, and add part of the sleeve on the left side of the body.
Now, following the drawing, draw a hand holding a torch. For convenience, it is now composed of fairly simple geometric shapes.
By the way, before the statue served as a beacon. In the evenings, a lamp was lit in a torch, and ships entering the city harbor were guided by its light. And besides ships, many blinded birds flew into this world and died from a blow on a lamppost. Every day, caretakers were forced to endure their corpses. The city government decided that it looked too symbolic, and soon they stopped lighting the torch.
Now the steps will be more difficult. First draw a sleeve, then an oval of the hand that will hold the rectangular plate. And after the hand that holds the tablet.
Let's move on to the hairstyle. Following the previously outlined face contour, we draw not too lavishly styled hair, separated in the middle by a parting.
We draw the famous seven-ray crown. You can do it by hand, and if you donβt feel confident, then under the ruler. It is better to outline the points where the bases and ends of the rays will be. Dashes denote the eyes, nose, eyebrows and mouth.
Add hair as shown in the picture. Now you can proceed to the next step.
Now in the oval of the body we draw the largest folds of the tunic. They will make the main outline of the sculpture.
Referring to the picture, draw small folds of drapery. This is necessary in order to add realism to the image.
Perhaps the hardest part of the lesson. To draw the Statue of Liberty as clear as possible, using the markings made at the very beginning, try to copy the right hand and sleeve with numerous folds.
Detail torch contour and flame. Now the work on the left side of the statue is completed and you can erase unnecessary contour lines.
Modify the right side of the statue - the hand and the tablet. If necessary, paint over the necessary areas.
Now that the statue is completely ready, go to the pedestal. Draw its top decorative edges as shown.
The image is almost ready. It remains only to add to the pedestal a drawing of brickwork and decorative elements.
What colors to paint?
To draw the Statue of Liberty is all. If desired, you can color the resulting image. Since the Statue of Liberty is made of copper, over time it acquired a greenish tint. Her pedestal is stone, brown.
