Braised cod - a gentle treat

If you once again decided to arrange a fish day, which is very useful for the body, then prepare the cod. This fish has a delicate texture, and in combination with some ingredients it becomes simply divine. You can cook it in many ways. Braised cod is one option, quick and easy. Each housewife should have such a recipe at hand.

Simple recipe

For starters, the easiest recipe with a minimal set of products. But this does not mean that the dish will turn out ordinary. The aroma and taste of this culinary creation is simply magnificent. You will need 500 grams of cod fillet, two medium onions, three small carrots, a set of spices (bay leaf, pepper, salt), sunflower oil, vinegar and a little flour for breading. We cut the fish fillet into pieces of medium size. Braised cod too small portions will not look presentable.

Then bread each piece in flour (do not forget to salt and pepper) and fry in a pan with the addition of fat (vegetable oil). Cut carrots and onions and three on a grater, put in a bowl with a thick bottom and a small amount of oil. Stew vegetables by adding bay leaf and pepper. After 10-15 minutes, when the vegetables are almost ready, pour a spoon of vinegar to them and put a spoonful of tomato paste. We mix everything. Put the fried fish on top of the vegetables and simmer everything together for about 6-9 minutes. The dish is ready. First, stewed cod is laid out on a plate, and vegetables are placed on top. For decoration, you can use any greens.

Sour cream gives the fish even more tenderness, so these two ingredients are often combined. Braised cod with onions is very aromatic and tasty. For cooking, take a kilogram of cod, two onions, 250 grams of fat sour cream, breading flour, a little fresh herbs, vegetable oil and spices. We cut the fillet into portioned slices and dry thoroughly to make a beautiful crust during frying. Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper and leave for a while. We clean the onion and cut into half rings.

Then fry it in vegetable oil until a beautiful, golden color. Put it on a plate and set it aside. Now proceed to fry the fish. We do this in the usual way, breading it in flour. After that we transfer the fish to the dishes with a thick bottom and cover with onion on top. Pour all sour cream and simmer for about 15 minutes. Fire should be minimal. Braised cod served with any side dish.

Cod in dill sauce

This dish is more original, but not difficult to prepare. You will need 600 grams of cod (fillet), 30 grams of flour, 40 grams of butter, 125 ml of cream, 50 ml of white wine, 100 ml of meat broth, a bunch of fresh dill, a little parsley and spices. Dry the fillet and cut into portions. Finely chop the greens. In a separate bowl, heat the cream and broth. In a saucepan, melt the butter and fry the flour in it.

Then pour the heated broth and cream into it. We do it slowly, constantly stirring with a whisk. Then pour the wine and cook the sauce for about 7 minutes. Now it needs to be salted and seasoned with spices. You can add a little sugar. Lastly, add chopped greens. In the sauce we put pieces of fish, cover with foil or a lid and simmer for about 5 minutes until cooked. Braised cod goes well with potatoes or rice.

Braised cod in a slow cooker

For quick cooking cod, you can use a slow cooker. Take two onions, two carrots, 700 grams of fish, oil and spices. We cut and fry vegetables in stewing mode for about 5 minutes. Then put the fillet pieces on top, salt and pour a little water. We put out the quenching mode for 30 minutes and wait for a signal of readiness. Everything is very simple and fast. Braised cod with carrots and onions will be your favorite dish. Before serving, you can sprinkle it with herbs and sprinkle with lemon juice. Enjoy your meal.
