Fibroma disease - what is it? This is a benign formation. It consists of connective and fibrous tissue.
Pathology appears, as a rule, in adults. In rare cases, children may also be diagnosed with fibroma. How is this pathology manifested ? This is an uncontrolled cell growth that develops for an unknown reason, as well as a result of some kind of trauma. Such a tumor can form anywhere.
Types of Fibromas
There are the most common types of pathology. These include dermatofibromas, plantar and oral, as well as angiofibroma. They differ in place of localization and in appearance.
Dermatofibroma - what is it? These are neoplasms of a round shape, usually appearing on the legs. Their color can be flesh or red, even almost purple. With pressure on the foci of pathology, nodular neoplasms are felt.
Dermatofibromas, with the exception of rare cases, are not malignant. In this regard, it is better not to touch them.
Plantar fibroma -
what is it? This is a tumor found on the arch of the foot. Such tumors are also benign, but when walking cause pain. In this regard, they must be treated. Plantar fibroma is treated by injecting steroid drugs. The patient is recommended to wear orthopedic devices and undergo physiotherapy. In the event that this does not eliminate the pathology, surgery is performed.
Angiofibroma - what is it? This is a
benign tumor characterized by a combination of fibrous and vascular connective tissue. It is extremely rare. In many of its parameters, this tumor is similar to dermatofibroma.
Bone fibroma
This pathology is a benign proliferation of tissues. It is based on qualitatively changed and lost differentiation cells of the body. Bone fibroma is characterized by slow growth. When a tumor reaches a large size, a displacement of bordering tissues occurs. However, it does not metastasize.
The appearance of bone fibroma is accompanied by pain and swelling, mobility restrictions, growth disorders, as well as frequent fractures. This type of pathology is most often found in young people and in children. Tumor neoplasms form on the tibia or femur. No symptoms of fibroma are observed in the patient. Only spontaneous fractures of the affected bone occur.
Breast fibroma
Women in the mammary gland may experience unpleasant seals. They are accompanied by pain syndromes or proliferation of connective tissue. Such seals are fibroma. If they occur, a consultation with a mammologist is necessary. Examination will exclude a malignant tumor.
There are breast fibroadenomas. With this type of pathology, the tumor is localized. There is also nodular fibroadenomatosis. This benign mass grows throughout the gland.
The most common fibroadenoma. As a rule, it does not degenerate into a malignant tumor. However, a rare type of pathology, phyloid, provokes the development of sarcoma.
