For a long time I do not always want to mess around in the kitchen for making dessert. Simple and affordable recipes are much more suitable for everyday tea drinking. Classic recipeThe cakes prepared in this way taste the same as in the Soviet cakes. The main secret is not to start the meal immediately after cooking. The recipe involves the use of the following products: 250 ml of water, 100 g of flour, 50 g of butter, 2 tbsp. l sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 2 cups of vegetable oil for frying, 1 egg yolk, 2 whole eggs, icing sugar. Heat the water in a pan, add butter there. When it melts, sift the flour there, add salt, sugar, remove from heat and knead a thick dough. Add the yolk and eggs, knead thoroughly. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan or deep skillet. Gently dip the dough into it on a tablespoon and fry until golden brown.

You can give the dumplings any shape, from the standard ringlet to the delicious balls. Transfer the finished cakes to a paper towel and wait for cooling, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
Scottish donuts in the oven
The recipe for this dessert is slightly different from the classic. Firstly, the Scottish crumpet recipe suggests baking in the oven, and secondly, they will have a filling of fruit jam or jelly. You will need 250 g of flour, a bag of baking powder, salt, 3 tbsp. l butter, 50 g sugar, 200 ml milk, vegetable oil, butter, fruit jam. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees, as recipe recommends. Knead the cakes in a deep bowl, sifting flour and salt and baking powder there and mixing with butter. Adding sugar and milk, you get a soft dough that you need to roll to a thickness of two centimeters, after which you can cut circles. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil, place mugs of dough on it and bake for about a quarter of an hour. When the donuts have cooled, cut them in half - because it is the filling that distinguishes this recipe.

Donuts should be spread with butter and fruit jam, after which two halves should be combined and the top decorated with whipped cream. If you do not have an oven, you can still cook this dessert. Do the same as in the case of classic donuts. Just find the wide and deep
cast-iron skillet, fill it with oil and gently fry your donuts in it until a golden crust appears. Put the products on napkins or a paper towel and let the fat drain, then cut and repeat the above recipe. Donuts will turn out to be slightly more high-calorie due to vegetable oil for frying, but their taste will be excellent. Enjoy your meal!
