Any housewife will be able to please her family with surprisingly delicious envelopes or corners of puff pastry. For the filling, meat, cottage cheese, cheese, cream, fresh or frozen fruits and berries, as well as a combined composition are suitable.
The simplest and most affordable dish is puff pastry envelopes with apples and cinnamon. And if at the same time you buy a ready-made dough, then the whole process will take a little more than half an hour.
However, there are housewives who are ready to sacrifice time to get delicious home-made air puffs. Real puff pastry, which is prepared in several stages, turns out to be the most tender and delicious, but it takes too much time from the hostess. However, it's worth it!
Classic puff pastry
To prepare such a yeast-free dough, you will need the following products: flour - 400 g, butter - 400 g, cold water - 1 cup, egg - 1 yolk, vodka (vinegar) - 10 drops, salt.
Pour the flour onto the table with a slide, make a depression in it, pour in water, add yolk, vodka (vinegar), salt. Knead the dough and place it in the refrigerator for half an hour. Rinse the oil under cold water and pat it dry with a napkin.
Roll the chilled dough into a finger. Cut cold butter into thin slices and put on a layer of dough evenly. Wrap the edges on four sides and pinch so that the oil is inside.
Roll out the dough again, fold in half, place in the cold for a quarter of an hour. Then remove, repeat the rolling process, bend again and put in the refrigerator. Repeat 4 times. The dough is ready.
To make puff pastry envelopes light and airy, it is recommended to use good quality butter. When rolling, you need to drive with a rolling pin in one direction - away from you. The oil should be evenly distributed inside the dough so that the formation is in all places of the same thickness.
Instant puff pastry
Units use the previous recipe today. To prepare envelopes from puff pastry, most housewives use a different recipe that saves time.
For a quick option you will need: flour - 3-4 cups, chilled margarine (or butter) - 300 g, water - 4/5 cup, egg - 1 pc., Vinegar - 1 teaspoon, salt.
Pour the flour onto a chopping board. Cut cold butter (margarine) into thin slices and put into flour. Chop with a knife until crumbs are obtained and form a slide in which to make a recess.
Pour in water, add egg, vinegar and salt. Knead the dough until smooth and refrigerate for 40 minutes.
How to make puff pastry envelopes with apples
Peel the apples, cut into squares, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cranberries can be added as desired. Roll and cut puff pastry into small squares. Put apples on the layers of dough, connect the corners and pinch. Put on a baking sheet and sprinkle with powdered sugar on top. Put in a hot oven for half an hour.
To make puff pastry with apples even faster, you can bake one large pie. Roll out the dough, giving it the shape of a square, and cut in half. Peel, grate, add chopped nuts or dried fruits, put on one half of the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Cut the free half of the dough in several places and cover the apples. Place the pie on a hot baking sheet and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
