Beef ribs with potatoes - a great option for everyday meals, hearty, with a rich taste thanks to the bones. You can cook it in different ways: on the stove, in the slow cooker, in the oven. Consider all the options.
How to stew
The following ingredients will be required:
- 500 g of ribs;
- 500 g of potatoes;
- 200 ml of water;
- 100 g carrots;
- 100 g of onions;
- 20 g of fresh herbs;
- 20 ml of vegetable oil;
- two cloves of garlic;
- salt;
- pepper.
Cooking stewed potatoes with beef ribs:
- Wash the beef ribs and pat dry with a paper towel, fry in a pan until golden brown.
- Peel and grate the carrots, chop the onion into small cubes.
- Pour vegetable oil into a pan, heat it and pour onions with carrots. Fry until soft.
- Pour water into the stewpan. When it boils, put the ribs and cook until the meat begins to separate from the bones, about 10-15 minutes. Then add the frying of onions and carrots.
- Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into whetstones. Put in a saucepan, salt, pepper, stew until the potatoes are ready, about 15 minutes, not forgetting to stir occasionally.
- Crush the garlic and put it in the dish before finishing cooking.
Recipe for beef ribs with potatoes for a slow cooker
Required Products:
- 0.6 kg of ribs;
- 10 pieces of potatoes;
- one carrot;
- one onion;
- two cloves of garlic;
- pepper;
- vegetable oil;
- salt.
Order of preparation:
- Wash the ribs thoroughly, divide into portions, and peel if necessary.
- Set the “Frying” mode in the multicooker, pour vegetable oil into the bowl and place the ribs in it. Fry for 15 minutes. It is necessary that the beef is just seized and not lose its juiciness.
- Wash potatoes, onions and carrots. Peel vegetables (if the potato is young, it is not necessary to peel it, it is enough to rinse it properly).
- Cut the potatoes into large pieces, onions into small cubes, and grate the carrots. Optionally, carrots can be cut into circles, and onions in half rings.
- First, send the onions to the ribs, cook for ten minutes. Then add carrots, mix and fry for another ten minutes.
- Put potatoes in a slow cooker, pour boiled hot water so that the ribs are covered, set the “Stew” program and cook under the lid for an hour and a half.
In the oven
There are different ways of baking: in open form on a baking sheet or in a form, in foil, in a sleeve, in a pot.
To prepare beef ribs with potatoes in the oven in the sleeve, the following ingredients will be required:
- 8-10 potato tubers;
- 1 kg of beef ribs;
- four tablespoons of red wine;
- olive oil;
- pepper;
- caraway;
- salt.
Order of preparation:
- Strip the ribs from the films, divide into portions, wash and dry.
- Sprinkle the ribs with salt and pepper, mix and fry in oil until golden brown.
- Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into fairly thick circles. Salt, pepper, drizzle with olive oil.
- Put the potatoes and fried beef ribs in the baking sleeve.
- Pour red wine into a skillet where the ribs were fried and heat. Pour the contents of the pan into the sleeve, add a couple of sprigs of thyme and shake.
- Turn on the oven in advance by setting the temperature to 180 degrees. Place the sleeve on a baking sheet and place in a preheated oven. Beef ribs with potatoes will be baked for one hour.
- A quarter of an hour before the end of cooking, you need to cut the sleeve and let the dish acquire a golden brown.
Tips
To improve the taste of potatoes with beef ribs, it is recommended to marinate them before frying the ribs. A good variant of the marinade is soy sauce with seasonings for meat, which you can buy ready-made or cook yourself, combining your favorite ingredients. For beef ribs, a mixture of peppers, oregano, paprika, turmeric, cumin, marjoram is suitable.
