Unlike small radish, daikon is quite large. The length of its root crops, depending on the variety, ranges from 10-100 cm. In shape, the fruit resembles large icicles. This high-yielding vegetable plant gives root crops weighing 2-3 kg. Its yield exceeds 30 kg per sq.m. the soil. Usually after 1.5-2 months. after germination, the daikon radish is ready for use. In our climatic conditions, seeds are most often sown in open ground in June. In many regions of the Russian Federation, daikon radish is successfully grown in greenhouse conditions.

The soil in the beds intended for this crop is dug quite deep in the fall (no less than the bayonet of a shovel). The best root crops grow on well-fertilized peat light and clay soils. Before planting, the soil can be fertilized with humus or compost. The beds should be wide. About 70 cm are left between the rows, and 30 cm between the plants. 2-3 seeds are thrown into the nest. Close them up by 4-5 cm. The strongest plants are left in the nest. Radish daikon needs the same care as radish or radish. It is necessary to weed the beds 2-3 times. Watering is carried out as necessary. On fertile soils, plant nutrition is not required. Harvested in dry weather. Root crops are dug up a little with the help of a pitchfork, and then pulled out by the tops. The excavated daikon is dried directly on the beds, the soil adhered to the radish is removed and stored for up to 3 months in a refrigerator or basement.
