Puppet theater (Volgograd) has existed since the first half of the 20th century. His repertoire is designed for young spectators, although adults are very pleased to watch puppet theater performances.
History
Puppet Theater (Volgograd) was opened in 1937. Although he existed before that, but he was amateur. And in 37, the city’s art department issued a decree recognizing it as a professional theater. The troupe was small, it included only nine actors. The puppet theater didn’t have its own premises; the artists showed performances on the stage of the Youth Theater or went with them to kindergartens, schools and the countryside. During the war, many actors went to the front, including the director. After the Second World War, the theater was born again. At that time, the troupe experimented and tried to stage performances for an adult audience. The repertoire included productions of “The Night Before Christmas”, “Devil's Mill”, “The Case of Divorce”, and “Toy”. Children's Puppet Theater (Volgograd) received its own building in 1956. It is located at: Prospect V.I. Lenin, house number 15. Many theater performances are distinguished by the fact that they use two plans at once - live and puppet. The very first such synthetic production was the fairy tale "Pinocchio." This performance was shown for the first time in the 50s of the 20th century. The protagonist of this tale soon became the emblem of the theater. The troupe began to actively tour throughout the USSR and other countries. Famous S.V. collaborated with Volgograd puppeteers Samples. Since 2003, to this day, the director of the puppet theater is Alexandra A. Nikolayenko. Thanks to her, the troupe began to tour more, travel to various festivals, and creative contacts began. The repertoire has replenished. Since 2005, the theater began to hold its own festival called “Silver Sturgeon”. The troupe employs wonderful actors who love their job and whose work is marked by state awards and honorary titles.
The theater pays great attention to charity. Every year on June 1, he holds an action called "Faith. Hope. Love." Within its framework, free performances are held for children from dysfunctional, large and low-income families, people with disabilities, as well as from shelters and orphanages. In addition, interesting meetings are held at the Hot Cakes club. Adults and children cast different tales in roles. The walls are decorated with children's drawings. Actors take an active part in charity events. Children who come to the theater receive souvenirs and interesting books as gifts. The most active are awarded invitations to performances.
