The medication has an immunostimulating and antiviral property. The drug is well tolerated, low toxicity. The use of Groprinosin is permissible even for patients for whom the use of this type of drug is contraindicated. For example, it is prescribed for people with scleroderma, children, patients with chronic circulatory failure, elderly people. It is allowed to take the drug as part of complex therapy with anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and other medications.

An agent is prescribed for viral infections in patients with a reduced and normal immune status (for influenza, mumps, parainfluenza, measles, adenovirus and rhinovirus infections, viral bronchitis and others). The drug is used both as a prophylaxis and as a therapy.
Groprinosin can be used in the development of diseases caused by the herpes simplex virus of the first and second types - herpes of the skin of the face, hands, oral mucosa, red border on the lips, genital, congenital and neonatal forms of pathology, ophthalmic herpes, as well as meningoencephalitis (subacute sclerosing panencephrine acute viral encephalitis). The drug is also prescribed for herpes zoster and chicken pox. Indications also include:

- cytomegalovirus infection;
- genital warts.
In addition, Groprinosin is prescribed in the treatment of immunodeficiency conditions of a secondary nature, provoked by chronic and acute diseases of the respiratory and genitourinary system, the use of immunosuppressants and cytostatics, the use of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in cancer patients, burns, injuries of soft tissues and bones of a traumatic nature, surgical interventions (in particular using local anesthesia) and others.
The medication is recommended to be taken orally after a meal. The tablet, if necessary, can be crushed. An individual course is prescribed for each patient, taking into account the existing pathology. Regardless of age, the daily dosage is calculated in accordance with body weight. The calculated amount of the drug is distributed in three or four doses. If necessary, reduce a single dosage. The number of receptions in this case is increased to six or eight times.
For adults, the daily dosage is 50 mg / kg.
Groprinosin is prescribed individually for children of all ages. The daily dosage is 50-100 mg / kg (tablet (500 mg) for every ten kilograms of weight) is distributed in three or four doses.
The average duration of therapy is from five to fourteen days. If necessary, treatment is continued for up to three weeks or longer, and the courses are repeated after a week or two or later.
