Sergey Orekhov - biography and creativity

Sergey Orekhov is a seven-string guitarist. Born on October 23, 1935 in Moscow in a large family. His father is a locksmith by profession, the cook’s mother, and his grandfather worked at a beer factory. Sergey had two brothers and one sister (our hero is the eldest).

Sergey Orekhov began to learn to play the guitar at the age of 15 according to the self-instruction manual. His friend mastered the button accordion in the same way. The future guitarist decided to find a good tutor. Subsequently, he studied with Kuznetsov Vladimir Mitrofanovich. We are talking about a guitarist who is also known for writing a book about playing stringed instruments and was (as would be called this activity in our time) a tutor for many musicians from Moscow.

Sergey Orekhov knew how to play a six-string guitar. However, he did not officially speak with her. The musician was engaged in a guitar circle with a well-known enthusiast - V. Kowalski. The string instrument was not his only hobby. In addition to playing it, Sergei was engaged in drawing, from fourteen to sixteen he studied at the circus school, but at one of the performances, unfortunately, failed, injured his hand.

Guitarist Sergei Orekhov was so strong in spirit, in love with creativity that even illness did not prevent him from performing musical works - polyarthritis at an early stage (he was sent by a radio operator to serve in the army near Leningrad, where he caught a cold, resulting in a severe form of the disease ) After the army, he studied for two years at the Gnesinsky educational institution in Moscow (the most prestigious university for musicians).

In 1956, he began working with Pearl Raisa (performer of gypsy romances) in the Mosconcert until her retirement, namely seven years. Then he spoke with his wife Tishinina Nadezhda Andreevna. She sang old romances and gypsy songs. They got married when an outstanding guitarist was 28 years old.

Sergey was an accompanist of Alexander Vertinsky, Vadim Kozin, Galina Kareva, Sofia Timofeeva and Tatyana Filimonova (performer of gypsy romances). He performed a duet with the famous singer and composer Anatoly Shamardin. Many people consider this association very successful and harmonious, as well as interesting, pleasant to listen to. He was also glorified by working with Alexey Perfiliev in a jazz and gypsy ensemble called “Jang”, which was headed by Nikolai Erdenko, a violinist and famous singer, at that time. Subsequently, a joint duet was organized by Sergey Orekhov and Alexei Perfiliev. And the latter specialized in a six-string guitar. He composed many romances and songs. He rewrote repertoires for a six-string guitar, because this type of instrument was very popular at that time.

He performed solo in the following states: Germany, Yugoslavia, as well as in France. Even greater fame surged over the seven-string guitarist after an outstanding solo performance in Poland. At the festival, Sergei Orekhov was remembered by many for his virtuosity, and was subsequently invited to the United States of America, as well as to Greece. Subsequently, the notes under its processing were published in the United States. He recorded his musical works in Paris, which is also prestigious and unique. Despite the fact that Sergey had limited access to television, he still appeared on TV a couple of times. He died at 62 due to a heart attack.
