"Cordiamine" instruction refers to the category of synthetic drugs. A medicine is produced in the form of drops and a solution for injection. The main objective of the drug is a stimulating effect in general on the nervous system and in particular on the nerve endings.

The medication has the ability to stimulate the central nervous system, stimulate the vasomotor (especially with reduced tone) and respiratory centers. Describing "Cordiamine", the instruction does not indicate the provision of a direct vasoconstrictor and heart stimulating effect. Excessive (toxic) dosages of the drug can cause clonic convulsions.

The drug is prescribed for circulatory disorders of a chronic and acute nature, respiratory depression (in patients with infectious diseases, and recovering), with a decrease in vascular tone. "Cordiamine" instruction allows for admission with asphyxia (including in newborns), acute collapse, shock conditions that develop during interventions (surgical), in the postoperative period.
Prescribe the drug before meals inside and parenterally.
For adults, the dosage (by mouth) is 15-40 drops per day no more than three times. For children, the number of drops for a single dose is equal to the number of years of the child.
Intramuscularly, subcutaneously or intravenously, the adult dosage is 1-2 ml once or three times a day, depending on the age of the child, 0.1 to 0.75 ml is administered subcutaneously.
In some cases, the "Cordiamine" instruction allows for use in cases of poisoning with analgesics, sleeping pills or drugs. In such cases, the drug is administered subcutaneously, intravenously (slowly) or intramuscularly in adults of 3-5 ml.
Adult maximum dosage of 60 drops (2 ml) - single, 180 drops (6 ml) - per day.
Intravenous administration must be carried out slowly. Subcutaneous and intramuscular injections are painful. To eliminate discomfort before the introduction of "Cordiamine" in some cases, novocaine is used at the injection site.
The drug is contraindicated with a tendency to the occurrence of convulsive reactions. Not prescribed "Cordiamine" and with hypersensitivity, epileptic seizures in history, hyperemia in children.
The effect of the drug during gestation and lactation has not been adequately studied. Application under these conditions is not recommended.

The use of Cordiamin, reviews of some experts indicate this, is tolerated by patients quite well. In some cases, the development of anxiety, the occurrence of nausea is possible. Muscle twitching of the face, flushing of the upper torso, urticaria, soreness at the injection site, rash or itching.
Overdoses of the drug were not observed. Presumably, in this condition, convulsions may occur, blood pressure may increase, and excitement may develop. In conditions, intravenous administration of aminophylline is indicated.
"Cordiamine" is able to enhance the effects of drugs that have a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, as well as antidepressants.
The effect of the drug decreases with the use of phenothiazide derivatives, paraaminosalicylic acid, general anesthesia.
"Cordiamine" reduces the effects of narcotic, hypnotics, antiepileptic, antipsychotic drugs and anxiolytics.
